Takes night pictures but are dark

That may be because (in case you had not noticed) it is dark at night. As you have given us no information regarding the equipment you are using, we cannot be more specific.

What setting do you put your camera on for night shots

Most important: Turn off the flash. This will lead to longer shutter speeds so you may need to put the camera on a tripod or other support.

If you want your pictures to look as if they were taken at night instead of in broad daylight, you may need to set exposure compensation to underexpose the picture. Refer to your camera documentation.

If you need further assistance please feel free to repost this question and add additional details starting with the make and model of your camera.

My daykight pictures are all white and hazy. What

If the pictures look normal while taking them, but become white after they have been taken and if they have horizontal stripes on them (zoom in the pictures to check it) then it's a broken shutter cable or stuck shutter blades. If they appear white before the picture has been taken, then it's a CCD problem. They are hardware problems, not software, so I'm afraid you will have to give it away for a repair. You should contact your local Canon service center. I must warn you that all these problems are considered hard to repair, so it could get expensive.

Hope this helps!

Dark photos at night

Before you shoot, try pressing it half-way so the camera can take information how dark it is, then press fully to take the picture. Do this every time you shoot, half-press for a second, then full press to take the picture. If this isn't rectified, check if you have custom ISO settings in the camera, set it to the highest possible value.

Pictures to dark at night

no there isn,t.but these cameras do not have enough flash to take great pictures at night, for one you cant be to far away, two you have to have a subject in range of the flash, other wise all you get is darkness.but at the most 10ft is the farthest you can go and still get a great shot at dark.also use auto mode when taking pictures, because it adjusts to light-dark etc.i know this because i have the same camera and its awesome, plus im a photo technician and ran a photo lab for 3years selling digital cameras. good luck, hope i helped

In photo editing programs there are Hue settings where you can easily fix that problem. There are off course night lens filters but not for amateur cameras.
