Can't seem to find a firmware update for my uncle's Sony Bravia KDL-40s 2000. As usual Sony's support site isn't very helpful. I have two Samsung HD LCD's that are less than a year old and they have already had several firmware updates made available. I find it odd that I can't find a firmware update for my uncle's 2-3 year old TV. Thanks.

The firmaware update is made because they found problems out in the field due to badly writen or not properly tested before it was released to the production line.

It appears to be a normal issue with this model, however there is an update on Sony's site that addresses that issue. If you look at the very bottom of the update details I'm about to post, you will see it

Sony Bravia KDL-60EX700 BAL Board / Flashing Green Amber

It sounds to be a firmware trouble. Will be best to contact the authorized service center for Sony, rather than trying to do it by yourself, as it is a very skilled work, need both concentration and previous experience. google.com/+GopakumarGopalan

I have a Bravia 52 in HD LCD TV. My problem is that when i turn on the television, the sound does not come on. I have to turn off the TV then turn it back on again to get sound. Why is that?

Not sure, but there is firmware update for this model posted at Sony to adress some A/V issues for this model.

Go to the site and follow "support" links to read specically what issue it addresses.

Chat live online with tech help too if this doesn't help.

My Sony Bravia KDL-52V5100 has garbked sound or no sound intermittently throughout viewing. This happens on multiple HDMI inputs through both my upconvert dvd player and the HD cable box. It is corrected...

I'm seeing the same issue. Only thing I've seen is a firmware update but according to my Bravia, I am already running the current firmware.
Was considering doing the update anyway...re-installing it so-to-speak.
Having trouble finding any other resolutions online.

I don't want to invest another $100 to find out it's a $400 fix....any info would be great b4 I chuck it. (FYI-I am mech. inclined so I wont use info like an idiot.) Thx - Dan Rathburn
