This is not a "Mac" related problem. It is either network related or browser related. Try logging into Gmail with several browsers. Safari comes built in. Download Opera and try that too.

Good Luck

I created a new gmail account on my iPhone but my computer does not recognise it - i am on mac and have Mac mail

When you set up an email account on the iPhone, it does not automatically get set up on your computer.

If you can send and receive emails through your gmail account on your iPhone, to set up your Gmail account on Mac Mail
  • Launch Mac Mail on your computer
  • Choose the "Mail" menu and select "Add Account"
  • Select Gmail, and provide your email address and password at the prompt.
This assumes that you created the Gmail account with Google. That means you would have visited the Google site and first created the email account in Safari, or another browser, on your iPhone or Mac.

Why am I unable to log into my gmail account?

If you have trouble logging in, either your ID is incorrect or your password is incorrect. Try finding your email address/ID using Google's lost ID tool. The same goes for the password.

If these two aren't the cause, clear your browser cache, then reload the page, as old credentials are sometimes kept on the browser and serves to hinder logins.

Google mail

These events are unrelated. You haven't indicated what browser you're using, but make sure, if you use Flash, that you have downloaded the most recent version from Adobe. Also, if you are using Safari 7, it doesn't load Flash video automatically, in most cases. If you use Chrome or FireFox or Opera, make sure your browser is up-to-date.

Also, you haven't mentioned whether you use gmail in your browser, or you use it in your email client (e.g. Apple Mail). In any case, it should have no bearing on whether you can use Flash.

You might try refreshing your browser, closing all open tabs, and quitting and restarting your browser. Make sure you have no add-ons, plug-ins, or extensions that might conflict. If there's a question, turn all of them off, or uninstall all of them.

Why am I having trouble with facebook not fully loading on my pc

Could be your browser and/or Mac OS version. The G4s and even G5 Power PC Macs could only run operating systems up to 10.5.8. Minimum OS for running the latest versions of browsers, such as Safari and Firefox is 10.6. under the Intel chipset. Because the old browsers are slow, sites like Facebook and Google do not always support them.
OS 10.5.8 is more compatible than, let's say OS 10.4.9. Check your OS by going to About This Mac under the apple logo on the left side of the screen. It will tell you what your OS is. Your choices: Upgrade your OS to 10.5.8 or take a giant leap to an Intel Mac and run OS 10.6.8 or later. Eventually your old G4 will not be able to connect to anything because of the browser issues.

I would try to open gmail in either the Safari browser or download Chrome browser and try in that browser. See if you can at least get to your gmail.com account via browser. I assume you are trying to download your gmail.com to a Apple app on your Mac?

Login gmail

Are you using google chrome.??
You may be prevented from accessing your Gmail account in the Google Chrome browser for a number of reasons.

Although both programs are Google products, there may be a firewall, browser or software conflict causing the Gmail page not to load.

Going through a few basic troubleshooting steps can usually clear up the matter and get you back into your Gmail account.

Click the "Wrench" icon at the top-right corner of the browser window and select "Options" from the menu.

Go to the "Under the Hood" section.
Click the "Clear Browsing Data" button near the top of the options page.

A popup window appears.
Check the boxes for "Empty the Cache" and "Delete Cookies and Other Site and Plug-in Data."

Change the "Obliterate the Following Items From" to "The Beginning of Time" option, then click the "Clear Browsing Data" button.

Clearing out the browser's stored files often helps to make websites load properly and perform better.

Check your firewall settings. Click the "Start" button and type "Firewall" into the search box.

Click "Windows Firewall." In the application, click the "Allow a Program or Feature Through Windows Firewall" from the left column.

Check the box for "Chrome.exe" from the program list.
When done, click the "OK" button.

You may have other firewall software installed, so check those settings if necessary to allow Google Chrome full access to the Internet.

Disable browser extensions. Periodically, an extension may cause a conflict in the browser and prevent you from loading Gmail properly or entirely.

Click the "Wrench" icon at the upper-right corner of the window, go to the "Tools" menu and select "Extensions."

Click the "Disable" link for any Gmail-specific extensions, such as "Better Gmail" or "Google Mail Checker."

If Gmail still doesn't load, temporarily disable all extensions one by one until it works. Log into Gmail using a non-secure connection.

For example, if you normally use the secure connection or "https" prefix, then you want to type "http://mail.google.com/mail" for the website address.

If you already use the non-secure connection, try using the secure connection by typing "https://mail.google.com/mail" instead for the address.

Try a different browser other than Google Chrome to see if the problem lies with Gmail.

The Gmail servers may be experiencing difficulties for a wide number of users or just specifically your account. Sometimes troubleshooting the browser or firewall software will not correct the issue.

If the problem still persists on a different browser or computer system, then wait a while before attempting to access Gmail again.

The loading issue may be resolved by then.
