SOURCE: cerwin vega ht-10d subwoofer won't work in yamaha reciever

Well, as I know, your Cerwin Vega subwoofer is designed for use with stereo systems. Therefore, it has only 2 channels for input, and 2 channels for output as well. However, you can try this out; the first thing I suggest is that you hook up your main front channels through the subwoofer. All you have to do is to connect the subwoofer input to the front channel output on the amp, then hook up your front speakers to the satellite output on the subwoofer. As long as you make sure that system is working on 8 ohms, I believe this can activate the subwoofer.

The 'Subwoofer' output on your receiver is used to connect to a powered subwoofer with a built in amplifier. Your KLH speakers use what is called a 'passive' subwoofer, it gets its power from the receiver and then passes the higher frequencies to the left and right front speakers after taking out the low frequencies for the subwoofer. A speaker system with a passive subwoofer is good for casual listening, but a powered subwoofer is required for really hearing low frequencies and rumble in movies. The KLH speakers you have were highly rated in their time for their price. The four satellite speakers and center channel speaker have very good sound compared to the little 'midget' surround sound speakers most people buy today.

Here's how you hook them up:

- The left and right front channels from your receiver terminals should go to the terminals on the subwoofer marked 'From Amplifier'
- Your left and right front speakers are then connected to the subwoofer terminals marked 'To Speakers', they do not connect directly to your receiver.
- Your center speaker is connected to your receiver terminals marked 'Center'
- Your rear speakers are connected to your receiver terminals marked 'Surround'

That should get you up and running. If the bass isn't good enough with the passive subwoofer, you can get a decent powered subwoofer like the Velodyne VX-10 for about $150 and 'kick it up a notch'. Good luck and enjoy....

How do I hook my onkyo SKW-791powered subwoofer to my onkyo av receiver HT-R758

You need a RCA sub-woofer cable (analog mono) to connect between the receiver's sub-woofer Pre Out and the sub-woofer. This cable has a single RCA plug at each end of the cable. The cable is somewhat thicker than some audio RCA cables. You can use any RCA cable temporarily.

The manual for the HT-R758 is available from Onkyo here: https://onkyousa.com/ht-r758 . The current link to the manual is https://assets.onkyo-av.com/product-manuals/HT-S6500_English_2022-11-02-204020_ivkn.pdf?v=1667421620 . See page EN-13 (page 13 of the PDF) for connecting to the subwoofer. The original package came with a 10' RCA sub-woofer cable, see page EN-1 (page 81 of the PDF) for the speaker list.

I hope this helps.

I have a JVC RX9010V and need to know where to wire the subwoofer on the back of the amp.

The JVC RX-9010V sub-woofer out port is an RCA pin connection at the top of the back panel, near the middle. It's between the Digital In ports and the DVD component IN. Crutchfield has a good picture of the back of the receiver on the product page: https://www.crutchfield.com/S-SBumAqV1JND/p_257RX9010V/JVC-RX-9010V.html . The manual is also available on the site. The direct link to the manual is https://pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20011025021500/Manuals/257/257RX9010V.PDF . However, the sub-woofer connection section on page 7 doesn't show the surrounding ports.

I hope this helps.

Can I and how do I hook a subwoofer to my Sony str-de705 receiver

It depends. You can connect an active (self-powered) sub-woofer to the STR-DE705. You can't connect a passive sub-woofer that needs power from the receiver. If the sub-woofer has its own power cord, then it's an active unit. See https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/37001 for more information. You'll also need a RCA subwoofer cable. This is like a RCA audio cable but only has one plug on each end. (Using a regular audio cable may risk a short when the extra plugs hit something.) Many subwoofers will come with the audio cable. If you do need one, they are available at most places that sell cables, including Amazon.com .

Here is an example of an active subwoofer: https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/37001 . This is the Yamaha YST-SW012.

I hope this helps.

How to Connect HT-CN300 Subwoofer to Onkyo TX-SR313?

Hello! You will most likely need a RCA cable with single ends (both being male ends) One end plugs into your subwoofer input....marked subwoofer input on the subwoofer..........The other end will plug into your receiver that is marked subwoofer . When low frequencys from your media.....whether dvd,s /cable or audio cd,s is present the sub woofer will kick in , Make shure to adjust your setting on the rear of the sub if it has any like volume or frequency , most better subs have them as where the home theater in a box combo usually does not!

I connected up all the speakers and components and it works fine; however, I do not know how to connect the sub-woofer. Is it connected to the B speaker out-let?

There should be a subwoofer output on your receiver that it connects to. It'll be labeled "Subwoofer" and its typically a purple connection.

U can use the system, but u will need a separate sub woofer amplifier if your amp doesn't have one.
