Won't show pictures from compact disk memory card.
My 12'' Smartparts picture frame will not show pictures. Power was tuned off and now the screen says insert memory card and press enter, but then nothing else happens and I can't accsess the menue.
Re: Won't show pictures from compact disk memory card.
I removed my CF card from the picture frame and plugged it into my computer to see if it might be corrupted. It worked ok so I put it back in the Pic. frame and it worked ok their too ????

Digital picture frames either have a usb cable you can plug in, or a removable memory card that you can plug into your computer. Once plugged in, it will show up as a storage device (just like a thumb drive), from which you can delete the unwanted photos.
It's the power adapter... I had the same problem as of yesterday and today I used the power supply from my HDTV and it worked as good as new. Will have to go out tomorrow and get a new power supply.
That frame cannot accept an SDHC 4GB memory card. Try something SD like a 2GB or 1GB and you should be fine. SDHC is not backwards compatible with all digital devices.
I couldn't find very specific information about your picture frame. I did find out it is from a company called Smart Parts and it is not a Kodak frame.
If I had to guess, I would say that the frame is not SDHC compatible. What this means is that it only will work with cards up to 2gb (SD).
I saw a review site (http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews115912.html) that had a lot of reviews about how the frame does not like to read jpgs from the SD cards so this could be the issue if the one above is not.
My recommendation would be to try to use a 2gb card. If that does not work, try loading the pictures onto the frame directly from the computer.
Are using a memory card. If yes, than go to "my computer" than click on drive that has memory card. (probably i: drive) The Music file is probably is mp3. Pictures are DOC
sounds like there was a power serge. One of the suggestions would be to make sure you use the "safely Remove Hardware" tab on the tool bar. The USB cable actually has power that goes through the line and can damage the flash memory in the picture frame.
your one hope would be to try another USB cable.
Ensure that neither the memory card or the frame have a lock on them that will disable the transfer of any files. If there is a lock it will allow you to browse through the directories but will not allow you to alter them in any way. Windows may also post a "right protection" error when trying to do so.
