The heater in my 2003 Dodge Ram 4x4 will not heat up or gets only luke warm & only on the passenger side....any suggestions?

  • bcc6987 Dec 05, 2009

We can hear a sloshing sound coming from inside the dash area. Also, the heater core hoses are hot like the core is working.
Where can I find the "air dam door" & how would I find if it is working/stuck/broken?

Cold on drivers side and heat on passengers side, actuators working properly and blend doors are moving. Heatertreater is for piece of plastic on actuator motor. I moved blend door by hand after disconnecting actuator and works fine, both sides freezing when moved in opposite direction.

It sounds like the blend door is broke. Does it have dual climate controls. Check out heatertreater.net excellent product i have used on jeeps and is huge money/time saver.

Does the air blow as hard on the passenger side as on the driver side? If so, then it may be that the heater core is clogged and not flowing hot water through one side. Good luck.

Stuck air dam door. or broken knob on control. or cable feel of air door. don't work on dodges it may be a vacuum line that controls it? its sounds like it has heat but outside air is cooling it down to me.

I have a 2004 Dodge ram 1500 5.7. Luke warm heat

are you talking about your heater core for heat in the truck ? is there a valve in the heater hose that you have to open to get the hoses hot to the core this is under the hood , follow the hoses , could be clogged core , does it over heat , or get up to temp should be about 190 normal temp for most motors why did you change these parts anyhow , did you use the radiator fix bars leak stuff that you put in , bars leak , if so you may have clogged your core , take the hoses off the core and blow it out ,pain in the but you went this far , ck for that valve to open

Heater in 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 blow cold air out of vents on driver side and warm air on passenger side when turned to heat. What could be possible cause?

Not sure about your dodge, but on hondas there is a lever under the driver side vent to allow fresh(outside air) when its cold out, it will be cold, even with the heat on inside, so check to see if your has that lever somewhere on that side...hope that helps

Lack of heat coming from the heater. Used to heat you out of the truck and now it feels more like luke warm air. 2006 dodge Ram one ton truck. Any ideas

turn the fan off and let it run for 5 minutes then fan on. should be hot if it is and gets cooler as it runs the heat core is partialy plugged if not you have no circulation check the water pump circuit to heater

Heater blows but no heat in my 2003 dodge ram 1500 4x4 with 4.7L engine. what can this be? its a 2003.

If your engine reaches normal operating temperature then it sounds like the heater valve is not operating. Find the valve on the engine firewall passenger side and manually open the valve. Find it by following the 3/4 inch heater hose to the firewall where it is connected to the valve. Most likely the cable ( or vaccum hose)from the temperature dial to the valve needs replacing.
