Hola Skye, la Kenwood Multiple Compact Disc Player DP-MH5 de tu papa, tiene un problema con una correa dentro del mecanismo, te sugiero que la lleves a un servicio tecnico especializado
Si tu tienes conocimientos tecnicos, te envio el link para descargar el manual de servicio, en la pagina 16, aparece el despiece de la mecanica y te muestra la correa con el numero 46, esa es la que debes reemplazar

Could be simply a dusty laser lens. Try a cleaning CD first.

After that, it could be that the laser assembly has low power output. Some decks have the range to increase the laser power, but it's only a temporary fix. The emissions are dying so the laser assembly will need to be replaced sooner of later..

Is it a DVD-R or DVD+R disc?

comment says -R just wanted to clarify, alot of players have trouble playing the -R discs. If you have your booklet for system, it should say in there otherwise they usually put a little sticker label, by the DVD tray with what file formats and discs it will play.

it is either the lense of the hi fi system that may be faulty, therefore, if that is the case you take it back to the dealer that sold it to you.

or probably the disc is not compatible with the HI-FI system.

The first thing you got to do is clean the laser lens maybe is dirt,witha qtip wet with alcohol clean the lens then with the dry part clean the residues of alcohol good luck

When you turn on the unit the cd draw seams to open. I hear it making a noise like if it is trying to get ready to play. When you shut the draw it won't play, change tracts, or the disc thing to put in more disc wont work. Someone please help me

i have a sony mini Hi-Fi Component System MHC-GX470. I comes on, the Radio and Tape deck plays well. the CD Player says "mecha Error" and hangs. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME???
