Plugging the wires fromwire harness

wires in a harness are colour coded and the connectors will be alike so find the same wire code and plug the connectors together . Remember that there may be wires in a harness with out matching wires to connect to as factory harnesses are made for extra add on items as the accessories list rises.

I dont know wich wire to put where on my ignition of my hyundai elantra 1996 car

If you purchased a wiring harness adapter for the vehicle, which you should have, you simply connect all the same colors from it to your Pioneer and insulate any wires with no match, then plug in the connectors.

1996 Ford Thunderbird Stereo deck installation issues. I purchased a Pyle Deck and the wiring from the stock stereo has no instructions to crimp which wires to which. The Pyle deck has the instructions on...

Your best would be to buy a harness adapter to connect the new deck through the adapter into the existing OEM wire harness connector. It makes things so much easier and more reliable.

Looking for a pigtail connector for crankshaft sensor on a 2005 crossfire.

you will need to match this up, you can see if the dealer sells this but most times they say you need to wire harness . what i do is match it up and then try to cross to an earlier year and even a different sensor.let me see what i can find here....well hate to say this but you are in for a haul, this is a problem with the connector and is sold as a wiring harness. they sell just about every other connector but that one, i think junk yard or try the web and see if someone has a harness they will sell or cut connector off, sorry.

Trying to install and rewire the kenwood KDC-MP149 cd player into my 1997 lancer. having problems matching up the wire colours thanks

I recommend you purchase a wiring harness. This will make the install much easier. You can match up the wires of the radio and the harness with ease (since all aftermarket radios have standardized color coding for the wires). You vehicle wires will never match the radio, unless it's stock. You can purchase one at www.crutchfield.com Hope this helps.

Im trying to install an after market radio in my 2003 Pontiac Vibe and I am experiencing no sound after the install. Do you know why that is? I have purchased 2 wiring harnesses for it and still no sound....

you are best off to use the factory harness and cut off the connector plug then use the wire diagram from Pontiac and the one from the radio manufacturer to crimp the wires together as u match the up. i myself never purchase the prewired harnesses for this issue u are having is all to common

I need color codes wiring diagram for car stero

The easiest thing to do would be to purchase a Metra wiring harness. It plugs right in to the plugs that you will remove from the factory stereo. This simplifies wiring, as you can crimp wires by matching colors on the harness instead of mixing and matching colors on the factor wires. You can purchase this harness at PepBoys or other places where they sell car stereos. The harness looks like this. I used this harness on my 94 SL2 the same model harness applies to yours

How to hook up a kdc-105 kenwood in a sunfire

There are 3 things you need to purchase for this install. 1) The factory spec install kit. 2) The factory spec additional wiring harness. 3) Antenna adapter.

Find the easied way to remove the plastic cowling around the radio and ac controls. Usually you can locate screws helping to retain the plastic dash parts. Be careful not to break the plastic dash by taking your time and looking over and over the part ofr connection hardware. Once you have located and removed all/if any screws, carefully pry out on the piece you are removing. There are often metal clips on the back of the piece that also help to retain the dash. Once that is removed, unbolt/unclip the factory stereo and slowly pull it out of the dash. Remove the factory harness from the backside of the factory stereo. DO NOT CUT THE HARNESS!! The wiring harness you have purchased is designed to plug and play into the factory harness. All you hae to do is color match the Kenwoods harness with the one you purchased. When wiring the two harnesses together use connectors **** a **** connectors, crimp connectors so forth and so on. If there is wiring you will not be using, take some electrical tape and tape the bare wire. We don't want a short. Once you are sure and have doubled checked that all the wiring is secure and matched, reverse the order of disassembly.

The plastic install kit should replace the factory radio size difference. Just remember to take the metal sleeve tha came with the kenwood and install it into the plastic install kit via the instructions provided. Slide the Aftermarket stereo into the sleeve you just installed. Then you are ready to make all the needed connections. Before you reassemble everything make sure to do a test run with your stereo. If all is well reassemble and jam on.

Purchase the aftermarket wire harness at from a local installation shop. WIres will match color for color to this harness then mate to the factory connector. This could save hours attempting to figure out the factory wire harness.

The wires for the stereo are cut

Yes this is not to bad to deal with.. make sure you use quality wire connectors so you don't have problems later with bad connections. you pretty much just have to match the colors from the harness in the car to the ones on your deck. If you don't want to cut off the harness connector on your deck just purchase one that you can connect to your deck and cut the wire ends on the other side of the adapter. The only wires you wont be able to match color for color is speaker wires... for these you will just have to hook them up temp. and test to see that they are connected to the proper speaker output. close.gif Read more >> Options >> answers-logo.gif
