The grinder does not come on-just a click. Just got machine for x-mas -used the grinding feature 3-4 times yesterday it stopped grinding, but the rest of the process continues-just no coffee ground into basket. It does not appear to be obstructed.
Krups km7000 Stopped cycling water
The grinder is activated by a microswitch inside the grinder housing. Under normal circumstances, the microswitch gets closed by swinging the filter lid 'away' from the filter (i.e. into the grind position).
Unfortunately, sometimes the microswitch works itself loose, and no longer closes when you swing the filter lid open, so the grinder doesn't come on, since it thinks the filter lid is still in the way.
This seems to be a common problem with this rig. I'll be happy to advise you to fix this, or fix it for you. Write me at [email protected]
If you dont have something jamming the grinder look like blow grinder motor you can trie activate the grinder at the same time gently tap the side off machine maybe what ever blocking the grinder gonna come off if not tank good for warranty good luck cheers

I have the same problem with the Cuisinart Grind and Brew. I only used it about three times before this started happening. And I paid a lot for it!
We bought a Krups KM7000 grind & brew about 3 weeks ago. This morning the grinder stopped working. The filter part snaps across as it's supposed to but the grinder doesn't grind. So far we've tried to clean the hopper including with vacuum. No luck so far. The screws for the grinder assembly are obviously proprietary and we don't want to nullify the warrenty. Anyone else figure out how to fix this without sending the entire machine back?
This machine about 2 yrs old. Besides intermittent water leaking and puddling when pouring from the carafe, it worked ok. yesterday the grinder worked for one cycle, then later in day would not grind at all. Manual doesn't tell how to test for burned out motor or stuck/jammed grinder. Am now running by doing the grinding in an old Melita grinder that has worked fine for 15 yrs., then brewing in the Krapp machine.
i've had my km7000 for a while, and now, it just won't grind.
Grinder just hums. The machine is about 9 months old, used once or twice a day. I turned it sideways and shook it, but that didn't work.
Ran across this when I was posting a question for the same problem. Can you advise how to disassemble the grinder housing to access the microswitch?
