Restore software for ipod 16GB touch

i would be checking the usb lead before doing anything or even replacing it with a new one make sure iis securely connected
the cable near the iTunes symbol represents a problem with the cable
and the cd will not not be able to activate without a connection

Connect one end of the USB sync cable to one of your computer's unused USB ports, and connect the other end to the bottom of the iPhone or iPod Touch.

If iTunes does not start on its own, run it using the desktop or Start menu shortcut.

When iTunes starts, you should see an icon for the iPhone or iPod Touch on the left side of the window.

Click "Summary" in the right pane of the window if it is not already active.

Click the "Restore" button to begin the device restoration process.

ITunes displays a message asking if you want to save the contents of the device to your computer before restoring it.

If you have not backed up the device already, click the "Back Up" button.

If you have already done this, click "Don't Back Up."

Click "Restore." ITunes clears the data from your iPhone or iPod Touch and reinstalls the device's original firmware.

The screen of your iPhone or iPod Touch may shut off while iTunes works.

Do not remove the USB sync cable.

When iTunes is done restoring the device, it displays a message letting you know that the device is about to restart.

Click "OK" to restart the device. If you are restoring an iPhone or iPod touch, wait for the "iPhone / iPod touch is activated" message to appear on the screen of the device before you disconnect it from the computer.

You may now restore your backup of the device or remove it from the computer.

hope this helps

Cursor problems

Boot up in Safe Mode and see if you can use the touchpad. It might have been hijacked by a virus or infection.

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode With Networking option (this will give you internet connectivity) and let it boot up. Safe Mode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this is normal. If the cursor and touch pad seems to be ok open your internet browser to download and install MalwareBytes and run a Quick Scan.

Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download and install malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When the site opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do not click the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the Gui Interface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version or Decline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run a QUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be in red. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad text document will open up showing you the results. You can close the text document and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTED RESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When it finishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot your machine.

Click Start/Control Panel and look for the Mouse and open it to check the mouse properties. Make sure you don't have the touchpad disabled.

Some models will allow you to toggle the touchpad on or off by clicking on the button that is located at the top of the touch pad in the middle.

Some models will allow you to toggle the touchpad by tapping twice in the upper left hand corner of the touchpad.

Some models will require a keystroke to toggle the touchpad. Press and Hold the ALT or FN function key located at the lower left portion of the keyboard, then hit the key that toggles the touchpad. The correct key to hit will have the icon of a finger pointing at a square that represents the touchpad.

Download and reinstall the touch pad drivers.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Dell Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Touchpad drivers.

Toshiba touchpad not working

Make sure you don't have the touchpad locked. On most computers right above the touchpad in the center is a little button that locks or unlocks the touchpad. Try toggling it. If that is not your problem see if your touch pad application program somehow has locked it. Normally at the bottom right near the time you will have the touch pad application running. Just scroll your mouse pointer over each icon near the time and it will tell you what the application is. If you find the touchpad app open it and reset everything to Default. Another way to find your touchpad app is to click Start/Control Panel then look for the Mouse Application. Open it, that's the touchpad. Set everything back to default. If the problem still is not resolved I would click Start/Control Panel/ System and look for device manager. Under device manger look for the mouse and other pointing devices. If it has a + beside it, click the + to expand it to see what is under it. Right Click on the items under it and click properties. Properties will allow you to see if the device is working properly and you can also update the driver just in case it is missing or corrupt. If all the above fails, then your touchpad probably needs to be replaced. Sometimes it could be something as simple as the touchpad cable has come aloose. Try your local repair shop and get a quote, then try these guys at: http://www.generalsystemsconsulting.com They will repair it and ship it back to you by Fedex or UPS. Their prices are probably better than any quote you find including the shipping.

Wont charge

Sometimes what is wrong is the charging area. If for some reason your phone has been mistreated or you tend to talk while you're charging your phone, the entrance on your phone which allows you to insert the charger has become insensitive to the charger. Now the plug and the socket do not match perfectly. You may need a new phone. if you have phone insurance, u're in luck.

hope this helps.
