ION TTUSB10 turntable plugged into Toshiba laptop,

ION TTUSB10 turntable - no sound, no recording. It is plugged into Toshiba laptop, via control panel: sounds and audio devices properties, audio tab, sound playback and sound recording set to Realtek AC97 Audio only other option is USB Audio Codec. I don't have external speakers. I downloaded ITunes and I can see a recording bar via ezconverter but there is not movement on the recording bars. The other setting is "line" on the back of turntable. Operating system is XP home. Thanks!

Maybe the output is not good enough for line in on laptop try mic in, then double click the sound icon down bottom right where time is, goto options, properties, then recording inside of recording make sure all boxes are ticked so you have all options like mic wave stereo mix line and so on, click ok, now make sure what ever you have the turn tables pluged into is selected as your recording device and not muted try again, once this is all ok ., it should work. hope this helps. also make sure your software you use to record is also set up same. take care

Turntable plays fine, but when I play the converted tracks in itunes, they are very low

Try turning up the GAIN (a knob at the back of the turntable). This should increase the recording level.

ION TTSUSB10 does not record stero

I solved the problem by using www.wiki.audacityteam.org home page under the technology heading and clicking on USB turntables. The mixer had to be changed to 2 channels. (stereo)

Sound quality

Did you make the audio changes in the Windows Control panel documented in the Ez Vinyl 4.1 Setup Instructions? You must set audio format and levels to specified levels for Windows 7.

Distorted sound quality randomly

My first thought would be the rubber drive belt, as it gets hotter it might get a little bit stretchy and then when you give it a break it gets less stretchy [make sense ] but thats only my guess as i,ve had turntables for over 25 yrs , but then that wouldnt account for the mettalic sound, that would only be if the platter was slightly warped and hitting the chassis [the main unit ]

No sound

Try setting the recordsettings of ur soundcard to "record what you hear". This way it will record ALL the sounds that are produced in windows. Warning: this also means that it could record an windows systemsound as well.

Help

Hi if you click on control panel, click on hardware+sound, then click on the recording tab find it will show up as microphone USB Codec click on it, click the properties button, click on advanced tab,
in the default format make sure that " 2 channel,16-bit,44100Hz (cd quality)" is selected, the incorrect default is for 1 channel.

Hope this is of some use to you.

LP audio recording seems to be at the wrong speed

1- The turntable is set to 45 rpm and the album is recorded at 33 rpm. Press the 33 rpm button the red light should come on turn the and be fine.

or

2- This turn table has a fast record mode where you can record a 33 rpm LP faster by spinning it at 45 rpm. If you are trying to use this mode you will have to make a software setting to tell the TTUSB10 digital converter program what mode you want to run.

:).
