To turn off the ringer on my Vtech cordless phones, I have had to turn off the base ringer & all handsets.

Base Ringer:
Press Menu and listen carefully, continue to press menu until you hear "Base Ringer, to change base ringer press change", hit change and it will say "Off", then you must hit the PLAY/STOP button to save your change.
Handset:
Press the program button and use your "up/down" key to cycle until you see the Ringer selection. Press SELECT and then use your "up/down" key(s) to cycle until the OFF selection is see on the handset screen. Press select.

SOURCE: ringer off

The VT-9118 can use one of 4 different ring tones, and can be turned off.

To reset your ring tone:

  1. Remove the handset from the base.
  2. Press PROG. You should hear a single short beep.
  3. Press #.  You should hear a single short beep.
  4. Press a number 1 through 4. You should hear a long "ring" tone (it might be startling!). You can try other numbers from 1 to 4 to hear them all.
  5. Press MEM to confirm your ring. You will hear a medium beep.
To turn the ringer off, follow the same instructions, but choose number 5.
Hope this helps you. If you need for information, you can download the user manual from http://www.vtechphones.com/docMgt/public/art/313/vt9118.pdf

How do i unmute the ringer on my vtech dect 6.0 phone

Hi Angie.

The manual for this phone can be viewed here:
http://cdn-media.vtechphones.com/ecp/documents/product_Product/1681/UserManual/6351/ls6425-3_manual_i3.pdf
On Manual Page 20 / pdf page 23, it says that if the ringer is muted for a single call, that it should work again the next time someone calls.

However. page 57 notes that the base ringer volume can be set between 0 and 6, so it's possible your ringer volume is not technically muted, but just turned all the way down.

Manual page 62/pdf 67 has a half-page list of other reasons that the ringer might not ring. (It can also be turned off, and there are different adjustments for both the phone and the base unit.

Hoing this lets you figure it out!

With many VTech phones, you simply press the down-arrow or - key while the phone is in standby mode.

Can i turn down the base ringer (or turn off) on my vtech dect 6.0?

Welcome to FixYa!

The base ringer is dependent to your handset ringer. If you lower the volume or turn off the handset ringer, the base ringer will follow.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Have a great day.
