Hello, I have a Hotpoint built in electric oven in the SY range so either SY10, SYS1 or SYS6 (No markings on the oven itself to suggest which). I turned the fan oven on and 2 hobs (much less than the oven should be able to cope with) at the same time, walked away for a couple of minutes for them to heat up. When I came back the whole oven is dead - no clock, lights etc, the 2 hobs were slightly warm which means it did initiate. The main fuse did not trip either.
The oven is connected back to a main wall socket so I opened that to see if there is a fuse in there that could have tripped, but it does not seem so as the secondary plug, a 3 pin outlet, still works.
The oven had been working perfectly for the previous 20 months, though the fan aspect has rarely / never been used. So is not a new install fault.
Can you suggest why the oven has lost all power and will not power back on and recommend a possible solution?
You need to ascertain that the oven is actually getting power. To do this, you are going to have to remove it from the housing and remove the terminal cover where the the cable comes in, and check for power there.
You may find that the terminal block has charred due to a bad connection and the wire has burnt away
If this o/k, and you are getting voltage there, then the problem is obviously within the oven itself, could be a timer fault.
If you have no voltage at terminal block, then the problem is between the terminal block and the main switch.
Hope this helps with your problem.

From review comments posted here: https://tinyurl.com/y7v4c7dh it seems you may need to hire an electrician to install the oven with a power lead, unless you can use the power lead you had for a previous built in electric overn.
Hello, I hope your oven is electric. Your White Kitchen Range needs a new oven thermostat which is in the knob. If you replace the thermostat switch, please unplug the White electric range. GB...stewbison

Hello, you have an open or shorted oven sensor.. check the sensor harness
connection between the sensor and the oven control. make sure power
is OFF.. if wiring is okay you have to replace the sensor . call for
service would be the easier route just tell them what you will need
probably be about 200 dollars though once complete.
Hello- Find and test lower element leads on back of range, behind cover- PowerOFF- unplug and test for 10ohms. resistance or higher. If low or open element is out.- Hope this helps- ED
Usually with ovens not heating up the element has gone and needs replacing. A few checks to do before going to the expense and trouble of replacing are to check the House Power Box Fuses to make sure none a blown - especially look for the one relating to the Oven or Range. If blown replace the fuse wire. If it blows again you have a problem with the power point or appliance. Does the Oven Fan work? If so chances are the oven is getting power as is the element and your house electrical lines to the Oven are fine and the element needs replacing. Not knowing the particular Brand you have amkes it difficult say how to remove the element. Some elements are accessible from inside the oven - others you have to remove the oven and get access from behind by removing a panel. Whatever you do if you do decide to remove the element MAKE SURE you TURN OFF THE POWER to the Oven. Hope this helps.
