Hello,
We just moved into a new house and the range came with the place.
When we try to turn the oven on, we find that there are some buttons that do not work on the electronic control board. The cooktop works fine, the problem is with the following buttons on the panel.
7, 8, 9, 0, Start, Clear, Start Time, and Bake Time.
The buttons do not work when we are setting the clock, setting a temp, or just trying to turn it on.
There is no visible damage to the ribbon cable. There is no physical damage to the control panel.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Although you cannot see damage / the when the buttons do not respond. its possible that membrain is damaged or the eoc ( clock ) is not able to receive signals from the touch pad .. the clock will have to be replaced . list price for clock is 171.00 and includes membrain ( touchpad) .. hope this will help mm
Hello Roy Ellis - Try reprogramming the range by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If it proves to be ineffective, I personally recommend consulting a professional to move forward accurately. The range could possibly be experiencing an issue with a wiring failure, EOC (electronic oven control), sensor probe and/or faulty element(s) which will need further diagnosising.
Hello lornalang - Typically "PF" indicates power failure. Once again try reprogramming the range by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If it proves to be ineffective, the range may possibly be experiencing a wiring failure or faulty EOC. Consult a professional to move forward accurately and to assist with the repairs.
Hello D Scott - Sounds like the range is either experiencing a wiring/communication error or a faulty EOC. Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes. If it proves to be ineffective, contact a professional to move forward accurately.
Hello - Typically error code F8 indicates that there is a communication error between the user interface and the control board. Try resetting the range by unplugging it or flipping the breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes. If it proves to be ineffective, contact a professional to move forward accurately.
Hello steve o - Typically error code F11 indicates a shorted keypad. Try resetting the range by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. This usually will clear most false error codes. Wait approximately ten minutes and if the error code does not clear contact a professional to move forward accurately. Most likely the EOC on the range will need replacing.
Hello - From what you have described it sounds like the electric range could possibly be experiencing a communication issue with the EOC, wiring harness or faulty element. Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn on oven. If proves to be ineffective, contact a professional to move forward accurately.
Hi - Typically error code F93 indicates a communication problem with the console control. Since you have already try to reset the unit and unfortunately it was not successful, I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward and replace the main control board.
