Can't print landscape?

I'm trying to print from an Excel spreadsheet, I've set the page setup and clicked on advance to change all settings to Landscape, however, print preview only shows portrait and when it prints its the same?

Any ideas how to fix this problem!

Thanks

I have the same problem for Excel in Windows Vista.

  • generwilliam Jan 02, 2009

Same problem... I am using vista and have the printer in my home network on an XP machine.

  • Anonymous Jan 09, 2009

Using Vista and unable to print in landscape, too.
MS Excel seems aware of the limit: even after setting landscape format, print preview shows the page in portrait format. Other software, like OpenOffice, gives a correct preview, but when printing orientation is still portrait.

Printer does not print the last page of a document. Where do I change that setting.

Check out your setup on Word (or whatever word processing app you are using). Make sure the Print setup is set to all pages. Sounds like maybe it's set to a fixed number.

File>Print>Print Range: All

If you are printing spreadsheets (e.g. Excel) make sure you have set the Print Area correctly.

    Printing a spreadsheet

You should tell us your "Operating System, Spreadsheet Program and Printer" for us to give you a difinitive answer. Whithout this info I will attempt to give you a general answer.

In your spreadsheet program, go to "File" and select "Page Setup" and set your paper size and set your margines and Portrait/landscape option. Your spreadsheet display should show you the paper limits for printing each page. Adjust the columns to the paper size. Highlight all the columns and rows you want to print. Find the menu option to set print area and click it. Now the computer will send the paged information to the printer and print as many pages as needed to cover the print area.

My hp laserjet 4 plus printer cannot print excel files

wherer are you printing this, A4 is european, north america would use letter, etc..
if you go to control panel, open the printers and faxes folder, right click the printer in question, a window will pop up, click on properties.. a new window should open. click on "Printing Defaults" or "Printing Preferences" then click on "Advanced" ( I believe it should be to the lower left) that will open another window, in paper size make it Letter if your in N America, A4 for Euro.. this will set the deafult print..
Click ok, then print a test page from the general tab..

The reason you getting this LOAD LETTER message. your excel page setup is set to print to letter, your machine is set to print top A4

If you open Excel then go to Print then a window should pop up where you select the printer you want to use, click on Properties, then Lay out, then Advanced, and input the correct paper size before you print.

does this happen with all excels files, or one particular?
Create a new Excel file, and try printing it.. possibly could be in that particular file. I have seen this happen alott particulary with PDF files.. Where the incorrect paper size is in the file..
