And try in any way can find to get the remote (original or copy) from your surrounding people and deactivate the child lock or take the TV set to repair shop to solve it from inside.
The problem with universal remotes is that they can not fully replace the original, for example, on my remote you may turn on txt but can not turn it off, the only way is to turn off TV, and turn it on. I was lucky :) You must find the original remote, or maybe some other universal in

have you tried pressing menu and searching for parental controls secction or even settings, maybe could help. if not get a universal remote which does evrything from dvd,vcr,tv all in one. all u do is set a code for each. its 5-20 bucks availabe anywhere
If your set has a blue screen with a small red lock on it, yes you are in the child lock mode, if there is no red lock on the blue screen then no you have another problem. The trouble is, if you are in the child lock mode, you cannot get out of it with out the proper remote hand unit. you will

Sorry man The only way I know to unlock it is with the original remote. They are available at http://www.remotes.com You have to press the M or Mute button and the F or the Function button at the same time. If the remote you have has these buttons try them. Like I said if it doesnt work, you will need an original remote. See if anyone you know has one you can borrow or the store where you bought the TV, maybe they will let you borrow one. Good Luck
