How to decrease volume

Your audio drivers should provide an icon in the lower right corner of your screen (normally). If you hover your mouse pointer over it, most of them will identify themselves. Once you have found it, there are a couple of different ways to proceed. Normally, a double click will open the volume control, since that is the most common use. Alternatively, you might right click on the item and select one of the "open" options from the pop-up menu. Usually that gives a more complete view with more options than just the volume control.

My dell inspiron 6400 screen goes upside down

the screen orientation can be adjusted, there should be a button combination similiar to CTRL+ALT+Arrow key of which direction you want to flip it to. or then you have to look on the bottom right corner of the screen for display adapter settings, there should be a orientation setting there if not, then right click on your desktop and select properties, then settings, then advanced. there go over all the pages and look for the orientation setting. That last advise if for windows xp.

Dark area on left side of screen of Dell Inspiron 1525

ok , i have had this problem on bolth my dell inspiron laptops , on a 6400 and a 1525 . the 6400 had the lower left corner all dark and the 1525 was split right down the center . i fix bolth of em in a really simple way , turn on ur pc and go into windows , press the blue Fn button and the down arrow untill ur brightness from ur backlight is completely down . keep it that way with the screen on with a screen saver for about one hour then turn brightness back up but not all the way up cuz in my case the problem hapened again , but when i keep it just one click darker , boom problem fixed . from what i can figuere out is that the inverter aint powerfull enought to power the backlight and tends to over heat , so keeping the backlight a bit lower tend the keep em ok

Dell inspiron 6400 screen is fading

Sounds like the backlight is going out. Youĺl need to replace the LCD screen. You can find them on ebay. Just make sure you purchase the correct one for your laptop. You will need to take out the screen to see who makes it and the number. Go to dell.com/support to find your manual, if you feel like you can do it yourself.

Good Luck!

Hi there.
Yes, if you can see a very faint image on the screen that indicates that the inverter or inverter coil has become defective and needs looking at or replacing.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!
