My iLIVE mod# IT188b will not turn on.... reset button not working either??? this is the second unit I have had(first one did the same thing)but was able to return without reciept...not the case this time! please help

Is it plugged in? Have you plugged in something known to work?
Have you checked the Fuse?
Have you tried the Secret Reset button?

Try a reset.

Press the Mode button to manually switch to Aux In mode.

White noise » Power the speaker OFF, then ON again. 

Speaker still will not function properly » Hold down the Alexa Mute button for 10 seconds to restore factory settings.

Turn off the sleep mode. For some reasons the geniuses ship it with a sleep setting already on. Hold the sleep button til it shows the time then press the sleep button several times until it displays 00. good luck!

You just want to jump in start soldering without knowing what the cause is???

Do you even KNOW the speaker is the reason? Sources and cables can be the reason.

As always, you should refer to the manual FIRST before coming here.That is where WE will usually start.

"Why can I not hear any audio from my iLive docking system?

When an auxiliary line-in cord is inserted into the LINE-IN jack (on the right side of your IT188B) you will not be able to hear what is connected to IN2 (on the back of your IT188B). Both of these input share the same input function of AV2. To play audio from either of these inputs, press the FUNCTION button until AV2 appears on your LCD screen. If both inputs have connections with audio players, the LINE-IN jack will have precedence over the IN2 jack. Make sure to detach the cable connected to LINE-IN before connecting a device to IN2. You will need an auxiliary line-in cable (3.5 mm mini to stereo RCA cable) to connect an iPod shuffle to this system. Also, there is a Volume Limit option in the Settings menu of your iPod. Make sure that this maximum volume is set to a range that will be audible. Be careful when adjusting your volume level. Higher decibel levels at close range may put you at risk for hearing damage."

I found two hidden screws on under the round rubber feet at the rear edge of the unit.

Get speakers made for ipod.

Make sure that your audio in on Ilive unit is going to your tv's audio out. Your tv may have a setup to able the audio out. Refer to your tv's owner's manual. I have to do this on my tv to my Ilve unit.

Yes, absolutely. It has inputs from which you can connect your TV. Its a nice box for the price. The remote SUCKS! Terrible key placement. However, you should be able to program the remote into another universal remote. Although, I have not figured out how to do that yet as ilive does NOT posts discrete IR codes or hex codes for the more advanced programmers.

hello everyone with this problem I bought a use unit last sunday and it was working ok till next day then not sound not light , I try to push every botton and shut off and on but nothing , after many times I decide to open the boom box , and resoldering all the connections take like 1hour but now the unit works perfect the only thing is the blue light never came on , but cd works fine and radio also the dock for the ipod , is working fine
