AiWa stuck on mute - no sound from subs.

I installed an aiwa cdc x227 in my pontiac. It has power, displays all functions, but the MUTE button is flashing. Manual says to tap power button - it only beeps and doesn't unmute. There is sound coming from speakers but not my subs - and it sounds terrible and dull. I have never installed a cd player before - I am a 22 yr old girl trying to listen to my ipod in my car!

(previous to my stereo switching adventure, I had a 2001 Alpine that worked great with my subs and speakers. So it must be in my connections. there was no audio input for my alpine without spending $30 on part)

I have a aiwa CDC x227 car stereo. Have it hooked up, had sound until I accidentally hit the face plate button. Since then I have no sound. Any suggestions on how to get the sound back?

hi, you may have caused an upset to the data flow from face to main pc board. try disconnecting the unit from the vehicle for a day, then reconnect it the next day. or find the reset procedure for your unit, it will either be a small micoswitch behind the face, or a sequence of holding down some switches to activate the reset function. if the problem persists then the unit mite have a cracked main pc board, a faulty face unit, or the mute function is continuously running. to solve these faults you will have to consult with a technician.

I just got the aiwa cdc-x227 and the mute is on.how do you unmute it?

check for a logo that shows a speaker with a cross(X) across. just switch this back. this is also available on the remote. You could normally find this on the top side so as to mute easily when in a traffic junction. Check if this button is jammed. Also check if the display shows a mute , if not the sound reduction could be a different issue related to the audio output. check if any speaker connections are short, or speakers connections touching the body. Chek on the wiring once again with a multimeter , for any shorting, correct positve voltage and good ground. hope this helps. Good day

Get a E03 error on display when playing CDs

It is not reading the cd. The laser is dirty, out of alignment, or bad. If it is under warranty, contact Aiwa. If it is not, you should just replace it. Just to take the lid off, and find out what is wrong will cost you about $80 at most repair shops. For $120 you can buy a new am fm cd with Ipod control and USB port. Hope this helps.

Aiwa CDC-X227 - No power to unit

Keep in mind that there are always two fuses in any vehicle that provide power to the radio. One fuse is for switched power, one for constant power. Both fuses need to be good before the radio will work. Often one of the fuses, especially the constant power fuse, is shared with other electrical circuits and may not be labeled as a radio fuse. Check all the fuses in the vehicle, including any fuse box under the hood. See if any other electrical systems in the car aren't working, especially the dome light, cigarette lighter, door chime buzzer, or clock.
