Returned home from vacation. Had been lightening in area while gone. Display window reads: line in use. Cannot get dial tone Unplugged adaptor and plugged back in with no luck.
What did the display window say after you plugged back in? With all plugged in and turned on, have you pressed the end-call key? If you still have an old non-electric phone, have you tried plugging that in, lifting and hanging up the handset? Have you tried ringing your carrier phone company to ask about the condition of your home landline, from another phone, eg a mobile? If you ring your home landline from another number, do you get 'busy' or does it ring, or what? Let me know how you go with these suggestions. Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Sounds like the laser eye is defective or has gone bad. This can be repaired by Sony and is covered in the warranty if it is still active.

ice maker only works if tempt is cold enough . 15 deg of colder . ck the fans and ck the coil /to see if clean these are very common maintaince problems that cause your problem .. mm
Generally a bad capacitor will dry out. The result will be no voltage passing through it. This is always my first inspection after I see the fuse or fuses are still good. I would certainly start there.
Feel inside the ice slots are there any old cubes that have evaporated in time? Take the ice maker out and clean it up and place it back inside to see if it will fill with fresh water. Take a hair dryer and melt the old ice inside the slots and see if it will try to fill. I will wait for a response from you. KSCS25INWH00 Kitchenaid Parts
I'd return it again... mark it to see if it's the same phone being returned to you....(perhaps inside the battery area) then try for
a refund if it happens again... if no refund available... check out
