SOURCE: Gemini Range Dual Burner

Unfortunately, you cannot repair one element of a dual burner. It all comes as one unit. When one portion of a dual or triple element goes bad, you must replace the whole element. I believe the part number is 1032746 and runs about $70. You will have to lift the glass top to access the burner elements. If you decide to pursue this on your own follow these steps: 1. Unplug range and/or turn off main breaker. 2. Open oven door to access screws under front edge of cooktop. Remove two screws and the top should tilt up. 3. The top will not stay up on it's own, so you will need some assistance holding it up. Some ranges have a couple of disconnect plugs that you can unplug, so you remove the entire top and lay it somewhere to work on. If this is the case with yours (as I suspect it is), lay some soft towels down on the kitchen table or counter top and lay the cooktop upside down. This will make it much easier to work on. 4. Remove affected element by disconnecting the wires first. You may want to write down how they came off, so you can be sure to reconnect them in the right order. 5. Remove mounting brackets holding element in place. Pay particular attention to the numbering scheme on the bottom of the element and where the brackets are mounted. The new element usually doesn't come with new brackets which means you have to take the brackets off the old element and put them on the new element. Make sure you install them in the same numbered holes as they were located before. 6. Reconnect wires and reinstall cooktop, making sure you reconnect the disconnect plugs if equipped. Now, be careful when working on the cooktop while it is upside down. Make sure you don't apply too much pressure on the glass or you could crack it. Also, use extreme care NOT to touch the element surface as the oils from you hands can cause hot spots and effectively ruin it. The bake light material in which the element is mounted is also very fragile. DO NOT put to much pressure on it or it may crack and break. Once you get the cooktop reinstalled and power reapplied, op test it to make sure BOTH elements are working. It is normal to see a little bit of sparking at first with new elements and/or an odor. Test the entire range of the element and make sure it regulates like it should. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: Smoke pours from under the range top when a burner is on

[UPDATE} I gathered up the courage and left the element on for a while, carefully using aluminum foil in place of a drip pan. No bad smell. The initial odor was just the residual burning off of the last of the rust/dust. I was worried about directly contacting the hot element with the foil so I made sure it didn't directly touch the element but that was probably an unnecessary concern as aluminum foil has a very very high melting point

SOURCE: maytag gemini gas range--3 burners wont light,

Hi, there is a switch on each burner control knob shaft. These switches wear out and are easy to replace once you remove the panel over the knob area. Each switch has 2 wires plugged into it and costs around 5 to 10 dollars. Any switch causes all burner electrodes to spark. Good luck,

SOURCE: oven burner smokes

Right at the base of the burner is the air shutter and orifice. Tighten down the orifice with a good fitting wrench. then open the air shutter all the way for propane. Make sure the regulator is set for LP if this is LP and I am guessing it is. I happen to have a training video which shows how to: HERE
I have it on that page with them other interesting videos and I ain't no pc genous so you will have to find it on the page. sowwy. LOL

Why do all the burners spark in the off position non stop?

Try swapping the old module back in. If that doesn't work, check all your wiring - any one wire from the knobs to the module that contacts ground (the frame) may trigger the module to start sparking.

I have a maytag gemini gas stove three igniters work but won't light the burners. One igniter won't spark

Replace the "igniter switch assembly". The igniter's are getting a weak spark and since you have one that will not spark at all, this is the usual problem. Here is the assembly to order.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

Maytag gemini gas stove. Ignitor problems

My experience with this is that it occurs when moisture gets into the ignitor area and shorts out the open and causes the spark. It stops after it drys out.

This is very non-techinical and I will defer if there is a deeper solution.

Gemini range

You didn't say if the problem is ignition or lack of gas flow. If ignition, it could be the pilot..if you have one..or the spark unit or its switch. If it is a gas flow problem, get a service person.

Maytag Kitchen Gas range

First of all- when you turn any ONE of the burner knobs to "ignite" all FOUR burners will spark/click. This is normal. If you're getting a spark from the ignitors when all knobs are set to "off" then you most likely either got some moisture into one or more of the switches below the knobs (sometimes they will dry out and be fine after a while, but I have seen them burn-up/melt/arc too) OR one or more of the switches is stuck/shorted. Good luck and hope this helps.
Unplug the range before working on it and don't attempt anything you're unfamiliar or uncomfortable with.

Igniters keep clicking

You most likely have a defective spark module.
