I have an older model Jensen 500 watt 2 channel bridgeable amp. When i hook it up the red light(protect light) comes on and it will not work

REMOVE THE RCA INPUTS AND DISCONNECT THE SPEAKERS AND POWER THE AMPLIFIER UP WITH THIS NO INPUT, NO SPEAKER LOAD CONDITION. IF IT STILL GOES INTO PROTECTION AND YOU HAVE VERIFIED THAT THE POSITIVE AND ESPECIALLY THE GROUND CONNECTIONS, ALONG WITH THE REMOTE CONNECTIONS ARE 100%, THEN THE AMPLIFIER WILL NEED TO BE SERVICED. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED FURTHER ASSISTANCE.....V

  • This amp is not "bridgeable" at all. You will either blow the front end or blow the low end voice coil in your sub.

What fuse do i use for my Jensen 2 Channel Bridgeable Amplifier with 300 Watts Peak? thank you.
Watts = Voltage x Current

300 = 12 x Current

Current = 25 amps

Sounds like a 30 amp slo-blo fuse would be about right -- you could start with a 25 amp and see if that holds it.

How do i bridge my jensen 200 watt amp? its a 2 channel bridgeable.
Easy, you grab a dual wire cable (like the one in the back of your amp that runs to the speaker) and stick each wire on one end to the positives on your amp. Then, on the other end, twist both wires together to form one wire. Hook it into your positive connection on the sub(s). Repeat on negative side.

Amp is in protect mode, green light is on.
If the amp is going into protect, it likely has shorted output transistors. To eliminate other possible causes, read through the following page.
