Your HardDrive has a problem. If it's under warranty, call the manufacturer with this error.

Testimonial: "Very quick response, cheers"

That's a harddrive issue. 'Diskread error' is not 'missing hd' , it is a fault condition of the drive.

It may not be the hard drive. go into bios and see if it finds it, sometimes its just been wiped out and can be reloaded and does not need replacement. never assume the drive is actually bad until you see if it has been found or if it can be re setup

How do I recover my Avent 8215P laptop. Error Code STOP: 0X0000C1F5 (0X00000000, 0X00000000, 0X00000000, 0X00000000) The system will not boot. Repair my computer from the F8 menu does not work! Help please

This issue is due to This issue occurs because the Common Log File System (Clfs.sys) driver does not fix the $TxfLog file when the file is corrupted. In addition to the Stop error message, Windows Vista may not start during startup until the offending disk is removed from the computer.

Solution : Find the hotfix available from the source http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ws=support

If the system is not booting at all, you may have to get a Avent recovery disk and get the OS reinstated. Please write back for any further help and support.Good Luck.

My sons advent 4489 wont boot 0xc000000f an error occured whill attempting to read the boot configaration data

Sounds like your hard drive has is failing. You will need a clean install of your operating system! It may also be that your hard drive has failed completely with knackered sectors. Now would be a good time to buy another hard drive. They are pretty cheap on ebay.

Windows not booting up on my avent 4489 notebook how do i do a factory reset

There is no factory reset on Windows. The only reset is to put in your system disc, format the computer and re-install Windows but understand you WILL LOOSE ALL YOUR FILES and saved documents, music and such. You can do some other things like hitting F8 while it's starting to boot up and get into the boot menu. This allows you to try and boot up in SAFE MODE. You can try this and then reboot and see if it goes back into Windows. You can also try LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION from this menu. This will change your system back to the same settings that it used the last time it successfully booted up. If you have files that you value on the system though I would consult a professional and get their help fixing this problem.

I have a message that says , error message: PXE Media test failure chek cable

PXE or Pixie errors occur when the system tried to boot to the network connection and failed. This error usually occurs when the hard drive fails. If your system does boot to windows and you are just getting the error, then you can change the network card setting in BIOS to turn PXE boot off.
If the error occurs and the system doesn't boot to the hard drive, then the hard drive has most likely failed.

Dell Latitude D600 with boot-up error message

You operating system is corrupted meaning that your harddrive has failed or you got a bad virus. Only fix is having the operating system reinstalled and mostly likely that data is lost. Sorry to have to break the news to you and hope that you can get this resolved.
