I have an Dell Dimension E510 running windows XP. I have 5.1 surround sound speakers that were working fine until recently. Only 2 speakers work; left and right. None of the others have sound. I have SigmaTel Audio.

Reinstall the software for the sound system, this should redetect the speakers properly as 5.1 surround sound speakers.

If you do this and it still doesn't work then the speakers are bad and your sound system would need to be replaced.

Surround Sound Speaker

It sounds like you need to define the speakers to the PC. Find the icon that controls your Sound Card and dabble with it.

I have a dell e510 its about 5 years old and recently it started shuting down and starting back up again, it seems to be more frequent lately to the point where its not even letting me log on, I changed...

It is very likely that you have a virus. You should run a scan on your computer with your current Anti-virus software or find one online. I would recommend AVG or Windows Defender.

Sound distorted at start-up and when program starts

Try going to dell and down loading an upto date sound driver and see if that clears up your problem. If not, you have an internal problem with your sound device.

No sound from Creative Labs Speakers- Please help

to localised your problem, try to plug your speakers to other sound source like mp3 player ,stereo system. if still no sound coming from it,your problem is within the speaker system. perhaps the audio power amplifier ic inside, need to be replaced.
