    You can go online to the MTD site which is the MFGR of Troybilt and see what ever for free. They may also be a download feature. There isnt much in the owners manual. DO's and DON'Ts and that's about it.
    A service manual is what you need.

    Those units are self adjusting. No way to adjust it. It sounds like you have a bad idler pulley or a bad spindle bearings, which would cause the pulleys to be out of alignment.

    You need to adjust the gas pedal. Info should be in the owners manual. I have it in my Troy Bilt Bronco manual. It say to adjust it in my book after replacing the trans drive belt. Maybe that will help.
