Nortel T7316E Our Administrator left and we do not know how to access our system. We used to have 2 ext and now they are gone. We tried the Feature 983 but the log is incorrect. How do we add our extentions again?

    Yes. I need to add mailboxes. Who do I contact for the passwords? Or does anyone know the master password.

    I can not get into system to change anything, the administrator is no longer here and we can not access anything. It comes up see admin. The numbers he had written down are wrong. Please help. ASAP

    If anyone knows the passwords to reset the log's passwords please let me know? The log password 1020000 does not work for our system anymore.

Are you asking how to add mailboxes? You might have to call a pro for the passwords.

I will share how I've learned and "that's the hard way". In your search engine, type in programming for notel meridian 7310 and you will find several that provide comprehensive programming.

In the notes I have printed, to log into System Administration,
Enter Feature 983 (the display will show "LOG" and then enter your password.

Your password depends on the number of digits for each extension number:
If your company extensions are 2 digits long enter "120000"
If your company extensions are 3 digits long enter: 1020000"
If you company extensions are 4 digits long enter: "10020000"

Another useful feature is FEATURE **23646 AND THE PASSWORD IS 23646, all you need to do is follow the overlay prompts.

I believe you have to go into Feature 983 and log# 1020000

I can't log into my Nortel vm account

Change the administrator password by pressing Feature 985 dial 9 even though it is not listed as an option. The display will show Pswd: dial 73738767793. The display will show Reset pswd? Press YES. Now you can log into the voice mail system administrator using Feature 983 and the password 1020000 if you have 3 digit extension numbers. Add or delete the 0 between the 1 & 2 depending if you have 2 digit or 4 digit extension numbers.

Follow this instructions to reset the Administrator password.

Press Feature 985 and dial 9 even though it is not listed as an option.

The display will show Reset pswd? Press YES.

You should now be able to enter the default password.

2 digit extensions use 120000

3 digit extensions use 1020000

4 digit extensions use 10020000

My MBOX is locked on my T7316E Nortel phone. Also, trying to retrieve messages from home I somehow changed the password and I don't know what it is.

Feature 983 log in is 120000 (if 2 digit extension, 1020000 if 3 digit, 10020000 if 4 digit extensions)
Select Mbox, enter that locked extensions mail box number, You will see password RESET. Select RESET. Release out. This will reset that mail box password to 0000. Use feature 981 on that phone and enter the new default password of 0000. you will then be prompted to change the password.


Feature 985 will show you your mailbox extension

How to move extension numbers from office to office using nortel t7316e

There is a feature built-in to the norstar system called "Set Relocation". When this feature is turned on, you can move a working extension to an unused/activated jack and the extension, features and mailbox will stay with the phone.
Have your system administrator turn the feature on, then move up to 2 phones at a time. The phone will go through 2 bootup sessions - be patient and don't unplug the phone.

How to Change a Mailbox Password 1. To access the voice mail system press Feature.
2. Press 9 8 3.
3. When you see Log: enter ~ SETNNA (738662) and press OK
4. Pswd: CONFIG (266344)
5. Press "MBOX".
6. Press "CHNG".
7. Enter the mailbox number you wish to reset.
8. Press "Reset".
9. Press "Rls" to exit (orange button to the right of the number buttons).
Default password is "0000".

Programing my nortel t7316e charcoal to access whole phone lines

If you are fmailiar with the programming of the system, you must set the lines (3-8) to appear and ring on the extensions.

Assuming you have a later release MICS or CICS:

Press Feature ** 266344, then the installer password.
Press Show at Terminals and Sets, enter ext #.
Press Show until you are asked for the line number, then scan through the line appearances, and change to "Appear Only" on the lines you don't want to ring at that set.

Repeat for each extension you want to change.


DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH PROGRAMMING.....
