My tv when turned on goes to a black screen with 3 color strips of lines going across the picture then goes to a snowy picture but only shows on half the screen and then shuts off

This sounds like a vertical problem. It could be just a bad solder joint or it could be a IC that has failed and surrounding componets. Hope this is helpful.

Try to reset the picture back to default settings for the picture on your TV or there could be a problem with the HDM cable and the HDM cable needs to be replaced or there is an issue with the TV screen it's self and the colour with your TV too.

If this is done with every input of your tv and also with tv channels this means a bad circuitboard .You can find on ebay one and mod it yourself. Its not such a difficult thing.

It could actually be quite a few things, loose wire, loose solder piece, bad crt's/picture tube, bad system board, or others. It's would have to be diagnosed with testing equipment. It will probably cost you another 150-200 for the new part to be put in.

put a towel across the top of the tv so it can heat up faster and you will get your picture. be carefull!!

Hi. this is caused by dry solder joints on the frame o/p IC. Resolder all legs of frame chip. Should sort that out.

This happened to me too and i fixed mine by going into settings and for some reason my subtitles were turned on. turn it off and it should fix it.
