On some TV's when you first press the input button it does not switch to the next input it just shows you the current input. It is the 2nd press that offten takes you to the next input in the list. This can cause problems with the Harmony. If your TV works this way then you will need to call Logitech and let them know about this issue. They can add the additional hit for you and then you can update your remote. If you are only using 2 inputs then A work around you can try is to tell the Harmony that there are more inputs, effectivly setting up Ghost inputs. You would put one ghost input after each input that you use. If there are 3 or more inputs then this trick will not work. The last work around is to remove unused inputs on your TV. Most TV will allow you to remove unused inputs. Then you can add one ghost input after each actual input: For example:
TV input1
Ghost1
DVD input2
Ghost2
VCR input 3
Ghost3

If I am missing some information just let me know.

Good Luck

I want to know how to swich the tv to wach dvd player? the remote works with the tv but how can i swich to wach a movie....i dont want to set up the remote to the dvd...

Sounds like you need to change the input channel of your TV with your TV remote. Look for an Input or Video Source button. Once you've found it, insert a DVD then cycle through the inputs with that button until you see something on the screen. As always this could be undermined by incorrect connections to and from and the DVD player. Double check these as always!

Input buttons on a Akai cftd2011 Remote

Hi. If your Harmony remote has those discrete input commands, then you can test them out to see which input they all go to.

1. Update your remote (with the TV added as a device)
2. Press 'Devices' and select the TV
2. Go through all of the commands until you find any with the word 'Input' in the name, and test them. You might want to write down what inputs each of the commands goes to on the TV.
3. In the software, click 'Settings' next to the icon for your TV, and select 'Adjust inputs'.
4. Select method 2 (one button for each input), adjust the input list if you need to, and set the commands that you tested to the appropriate inuputs.
5. Update the remote and test your Activities.

Hope that helps you get yout Harmony setup!!

Samsung PN58b530 tv and harmony 550. When setup have all devices set except when the tv turns on it stays on one hdmi setup then jumps to another that was not programmed.

Samsung TV's have Anynet automatic input switching. This severely conflicts with the Harmony Remote as they both do the same jobs; Switch inputs automatically. We would like for you to disable this feature on your Samsung TV using your original remote, so the Harmony Remote will work properly.

Disable Samsung Anynet+

1. Press your Tools Button.
2. Scroll down to Anynet and press your Select Button.
3. Once on the Anynet screen, please press your Left/Right Button(s) to select the Off Setting on the Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC)
4. Scroll down to the Auto Turn Off and select No.

Once this is completed, please turn off your TV and all device and power them back on using the Harmony Remote.

My Logitech Harmony remote will not configure to change inputs on my new Mitsubishi TV. I know it can be done but need a little help? Any Ideas????

Sometime the remote codes are incorrect on the harmony remote website, if your original remote for the TV has separate buttons for inputs then you can teach those commands to your harmony remote.

Log into your harmony account, select trouble shoot for your TV and select not changing inputs properly. The onscreen wizard will walk you through the process.

Television input doesn't always match activity

Depending on the type of tv you may need to count the TV tuner as an input. My bro-in-law had the same problem. The TV has 5 inputs (S-video, HDMI, etc) but when you set up the remote you need to tell the remote you have 6 inputs, one for the TV tuner.

I hope that helps.

Harmony 550 remote does not change tv input when device is changed (ie DVD to PVR)

I had a similar problem setting up the 550 today. The problem was caused by the delay time needed by the TV before it was "ready" to receive new commands. I have a Vizio LCD. The problem was solved using the Harmony software for troubleshooting the TV device. I selected "does not change input on startup" or some such similar wording. It then allowed me to change the delay time. I extended the time to 7500ms and it would then change channels. I also changed the sequence of startup for devices to start the DVD and ReplayTV second (after the TV) to give the TV more time to boot up (or whatever it really is doing).

You can also add additional commands to insert a delay and then re-issue the input selection. However, I don't remember the sequence of steps that got me to that screen. Good luck.
