RCA pearl 4GB expandable memory?

I have a 1GB RCA pearl and it won't work with a 4GB SD card. It will read it but when I plug it into the computer it won't read and it asks me to reformat the disk when the SD card isn't in it.

The card you are trying to use is likely a high capacity sd card (SDHC). This player does not support high capacity cards, it only supports microSD cards that are non-high capacity (I think most of them are usually 2GB or less, but you can find them up to 4GB).

I don't have a home computer how can I use my 4gb sandisk sd memory card in my phone to expand my memory I have a blackberry curve 8530 thanks

hi there.
if you open the back battery compartment you will see just to the left of the battery there is a slot for the sd card. just insert it in here. unfortunately this will only expand things like media files, not the application data which cannot be expanded. I hope this helps.

Access data on 8Gb SD card

Hello,

Some older card readers will not read the newer HC-SD cards all memory cards larger that 4gb are HC-SD. You need to get a new card reader that states HC-SD compatible. Office Depot sells them as well as many online sites. Then just plug the new reader into a USB port and go.

I Hope this helps, If so please rate my solution.

Micro sd probelem

Well, the most memory from a micro sd card the Sansa mp3 player can take is 2gb, because anything more will freeze up the player because it was not designed to read that much memory. So if you have a 1gb or a 2gb memory card, then you can use them.

PDA will not read memory card

What PDA do you have? What size memory card do you have? Certain PDAs cannot read more than 1GB memory cards. For example, my Palm Treo 700wx cannot support SD cards larger than 2GB. In fact, when I put a 4GB inside, it damaged the SD card such that I could no longer use a memory card reader to use it for anything else.

If you can answer the two questions below, I can try and help you out more.

MEMORY CARD ERROR

From what I can see here, the card's size is too large that your camera couldn't support or handle. Maybe your camera is just limited to 1GB or 2GB. Try plugging 2GB card and see if it detects it. I had similar prob where I bought a 4GB card and it does exactly the same thing. I consulted the vendor, he said it only supports up to 2GB thus, it's a product limitation...well I'm stuck there hehe, can't be helped at all..

If you are certain that your camera can handle 4GB card or higher, try to plug the 4GB card into a card reader and see if it detets it. If it does, try to reformat the card and try it again to your camera.

Also, 1 possible thing is that your 4GB card is password protected. Was it plugged in to any other device? If it was, try to plug it back to the same device where it was connected and disable the password.

Onother thing is the brand. Some camera is brand sensitive when it comes to cards. You may need to try different brand as well.

Hope this helps. :-)

I have the player, memory question...

I've had a 1gb sd car for two years or so and never had any trouble. I'd like to hear the answer on the question whether 2gb cards work, too, though.
