Some keys on mpk49 do not play unless hit hard

sounds like dust, if you know some one with an air compresser ask them to give it a blow through, if not then it is down to caned compressed air, if that is not enough, you need to open it, and clean the contacts (DVD cleaner is cheap and good)

Which system do I need to be able to trigger loops/textures/pads from the lower 2 or 3 strings of my guitar (kinda like one finger accompaniment on cheap keyboards), while soloing on the higher strings?

You could hook the output of the GR33 to something like an AKAI MPC (http://www.akaipro.com/mpc) assigning different notes to trigger different samples or sequences.

Hey there, i have an rc 50 and when i loop the first bit is cut off. was told that i dont need to update my spftware as its vers1.02 but was told to follow instructions on PDF to change some settings/ mode...

Make sure you start and terminate the sampling on the beat... otherwise when looped the thing can't "splice" the sample without clipping the sample to tie the start and finish together... and keep the rhythm.

You might want to review your manual regarding modes they may have that are more tolerant of the splicing of the sample.

Understanding the problem is half the solution!

you need to lower the loop volume for it is taking a small sample every time you loop.

Sampling into yamaha dtxpress iv

If you have a sampler, you could midi out of the DTX brain into the midi in of the sampler to trigger the sounds. If not ,try downloading KORE2 from Native Instruments onto your computer and triggering it using the above mentioned method . Midi out from your brain to Midi in on your computer. Hope this helps.
