My camcorder does not have a picture when recording. It records sound only. One would think the lens cap was on, but that is not the case.

Canon WILL fix it for free...they do a great job and get it done fast!
The image sensor (CCD) is the problem.This model is being repaired free of charge by Canon

I'm having the same problem, but only recently found this information. I just emailed Canon to find out if the repairs would still be serviced free of charge. Good luck :)

Usually answered in minutes!
No matter what setting I put my camera on, all I record is sound and a black screen. This was one of the best camcorders I have had, and I hope canon can keep it that way, with HELP in fixing the problem so many have.
i have an important party tomorrow and just found out that ican only record sound no pics come on.
the lens is clear and open and i try all possible settings.
what do i do
