SOURCE: Soap Dispence problem on GHW9200LW

In applications with low water pressure, insufficient water
volume is introduced during the fabric softener dispensing
portion of the cycle to flush the dispenser.
RESOLUTION:
The holes in the dispenser housing were enlarged to allow
a greater volume of water to flow through the fabric
softener dispenser to properly dispense the fabric softener.
Order and replace the dispenser housing, Part
#8181719, to correct the condition

SOURCE: Epic Z - Water coming out the front soap tray

you can try pulling the soap tray out and clean all the old detergent and softener in there. they do clogged the outlet of water for the water to overflow.

check also where the soap box is inserted. it would also have lots of dirt.

tnx 4 using fixya,

SOURCE: Water over flowing in soap dispencer Whirlpool sport duet washer

A sock was in between the two tubs blocking the water going tnto the main tub. This caused the water to backup and overflow in the soap dispencer..and all over the floor I then put my hand in between the two tubs and pulled the sock out. Thanks to the expert group for giving me this solution.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Could be a couple of reasons- dirty filter and water not hot enough.
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete and generic guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.
Heater
It could be that the element is coated in calcium. I suggest you run the contents of a couple of sachets of proprietary limescale removing powder/fluid through it. The most efficient way is to put the contents in an empty washer and pour a kettle of hot water into the drum then leave overnight. In the morning run just a spin; the water mix will then go through the drain filter and drain motor impeller blades, doing absolutely NO harm whatsoever, in fact some good!
You could also consider repeating the action ;-0)

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!
John C

Hoover softwave not doing anything except clicking

It sounds like the rotating program controller has failed. It is telling other parts of the machine to do things as part of the wash cycle and the signal is not reaching them. This is an expensive part to replace. Get it fixed under guarantee if its new. If its old replace it, but do not buy a Hoover, they are very cheaply made and fail a lot. If you want a cheap one buy a Zanussi.

I have a second hand hoover softwave 1100 washer dryer and there are five click switches on the front. I have worked out that the far right one is the power but what are the others for please?

Hello Librimelow,

The Buttons on the Hoover Softwave are as follows from left to right:

1. ?
2. Half load
3. Wool
4. Low Heat
5. Power

I can not find what the first button is I have looked every where I can think of to find out what the first button is. YouTube has many pictures of the front but you can not make out the first button of the group. Sorry I can not be of more assistance.

Washing machine off balance in one cycle

Make sure washer is on a level surface and all four feet adjusted properly. A slight forward lean may help with this problem as the out of balance switch is at the rear.

My front-loading Hoover washer/drier (Softwave 1100, Model A8754). Will carry out the wash cycle but not go into spin cycle and thus door will not open. Checked for blockages and none found. Can you help...

Door will not open if it has water in it.
Lay hose down to get rid of water, then you can open door.
Try the spin with no water in, if it spins, then you have a draining problem
