Hotpoint WF860 Cycle does not end

My Hotpoint WF860 washing machine is not finishing its cycle. The machine goes on for so long but never spins or rinses, it gets to 1 minute remaining on the display and then keeps going just turning the drum, not spinning and never getting past 1 min remaining.

the only fix I have sorted to get my washing done (but not really very clean) is to stop it when it gets to 1 minute, let it do its 2minute draining cycle then put it onto a spin and rise, it works then but the clothes are not really clean they are just rinsed through.

Can anyone tell me if they know what the problem is and how to fix it.

IT has been suggested it might be the carbon brushes but I am not a all convinced he knew what he was talking about (not an engineer just a neighbour)

Any help would be much appreciated

Your machine is still under guarantee. Contact the dealer who sold you the machine and make it his problem. Trying to do anything to the machine will void your guarantee.

Try holding down 'options' & 'select' together the light changes OR 'dry' & 'spin' OR hold down 'end of cycle'. Works for other machines, tell me what did it.

the applionce is in demmo mode and running a test cycle so you need to cancle the cycle first by holding the start reset button until all the screen iluminates(88:88) now you need to disable the demo mode by holding the start cancle and the on off buttons together until you see D OFF in some cases you may need to hold the button to the top left of the screen and the start and on off buttons but this will sort it

Wont finish washing cycle
suspect not draining. if not then problem could be the filter. at back, remove the small panel at the bottom. you will see a hose from the bottom of the tub to the pump. remove this hose at the tub end and the filter is inside.be carefull, if machine has not drained, a lot of water will come out. disconnect from mains of course

Hotpoint Ultima WF860 stops every time with 1 second to go
This problem is caused by the heating element not working.The machine won`t spin & finish because the machine knows it hasn`t heated the water during the wash programe but clock will still count down.this is what we were told by a hotpoint engineer.the callout charge is £89.98 from hotpoint this includes parts & labour. 27/7/07
