Hypercam 3 will not record sound under Vista.

Please check all of the settings options under the Control Panel - Sound.

Not all digital cameras record sound along with images. Since you neglected to specify the make and model of your camera, I can't tell whether your camera fits into this category. If you're certain your camera is supposed to record sound, please repost your query and be sure to specify the make and model of your camera.

these two programs will work for you , the first will record audio only . the next will record audio , video and everything that happens on your computer screen .

Well to record a video you need a video recording program, I recommend you getting hypercam, or something similar, just google it. Then read the instructions on how to setup and record what you want.

Since it is playing the tape, the play head is ok. Now recording is done by recording heads so you may have a clogged heads or damaged recording heads. Try to clean the heads with head cleaning tape to see if it would help. 1. remove the tape and leave the door open. 2. using a canned air, blow out any dusts in the tape area. 3. run head cleaning tape for about 10 seconds and no more. 4. try the recording.. If this does not resolve, you may have a damaged or heavy clogged video heads. Take it to nearest video technician for a diagnostic. -James

playback on the camera? good news is that there really may be nothing wrong with thecamera

this model doesn't have a speaker. but it has a mic so it can record sounds
when you transfer the videos to the computer - it is supposed to play with a sound

Videos with sound is possible or you can record sound memos as well

Recording and Playing Sound Memos
You can record and play back sound memos for your photos while you view them on the LCD screen.
1. Turn the Mode dial to playback mode.
2. Press the MENU button. Playback Menu 1 is displayed.
3. Select Sound Memo by using the u d buttons, then press the r button.
4. Press the OK button and then start recording.
5. When you are finished recording, press the OK button. You can play or delete the sound memo or record
a new memo.
6. Press the MENU button twice to exit the menu.
When you play back a photo that includes a sound memo, the icon appears on the screen. Press the OK
button to play the sound.
Note:
You must have at least one photo saved to record a sound memo.
