if the timer is on auto it won't advance if there is no heat,you'll need a meter to read out parts in dryer,is it gas or electric?try first by checking the thermal fuse on the blower wheel housing,if that's good check the heater if it's electric,if it's gas check the ignitor,sensor gas coilssend model number and if it's gas or electric next time

check house fuse/circuit breaker
door switch
if an electric dryer the thermal fuse as they are often wired into the motor run circuit
check for power to the motor in start and run circuit, if present motors spent.
if not present trace back to timer and verify timer is sending power, if not timers spent.
more likely circuit breaker, door switch or thermal fuse if electric dryer..

Bad timer motor if you are using timed dry.
If using auto dry probably a bad sensor.
Verify by using any time dry or air fluff cycle and see if the timer moves.

NOT ELITE HE4..... Model 96595400. Replaced thermistor and Hi-Limit Stat. Probably the thermistor.

there could be a temperature switch that tripps off. look at the diagram and trace also the power to the timer motor. it seems that you lost your power to your timer motor that is why the timer stays @ what ever setting you set it.

Probablyl the timer motor. Synchonosous motors that run these timers have a internal part that insure they always start the same direction.

Timer resistance is way too low. You may have misswired the new timer. Basically, when the dryer motor is running, the timer motor gets voltage 115 volts.

If the timer advances in timed cycle but not automatic, you have a bad heater thermostat.
