This morning, I went to turn the oven on to preheat. The oven light came on, but when I passed 250 degrees, it went back off. I turned the knob around to broil, the light came on again. But the oven never preheated. The burners will not work either. The surface light comes on when I turn them on, but they do not heat. Sometimes, both oven and surface lights will turn on at the same time even though I am only turning the oven knob and the surface units are off. It worked fine yesterday. Oven is only 18 months old. Model number is J BS07 M1CC.

The outlet is hot. My son-in-law came over with his meter--it is not an outlet or circuit panel box problem. Thanks for your help, I should have included that in the info.

Check the breaker pannel or fuse box. The elements work on 220 volts the lights on 120 volts. If this doesn't help repost and well try again
Hope This helps

Any idea on how to fix my double wall oven?

That doesn't sound good and is likely to be a Control Board issue. Turn it off tonight at the breaker and turn it back on in the morning. That is the closest you will get to a Reset.

The light in the oven is just a simple switch connected to the door hinge.

HOW TO CALIBRATE OVEN TEMPERATURE INDICATOR AND THE OVEN TEMPERATURE ON THERMADOR PRD304EG RANGE

If you remove the knob, you will see the very center of the male part the know attaches to has a small flat head screw in the middle of it. Buy turning this screw in and out, you are micro adjusting the temp when the oven cycles on and off. Its best to have a digital thermometer set up within the oven so you can see exactly when the oven cycles on and off. It's going to fluctuate about 20-30 degrees. So set your oven to 350, let it turn on and watch carefully when the red light shuts off it should be between within 30 degrees from where you set it, up or down. If its too low, turn in( could be out, I forgot) the screw in the center of that know with a mini flat head screw driver. If you turn it and the light goes back on, you turned it up. If it does not go on in an quarter turn, you went lower. Once your digital thermometer matches up closely whith what your oven says, your good. 25 degrees isn't much to be gentile whith turning that middle screw, you could miss your mark and be off even more very easealy.

No matter how long I let it heat up never goes past 250 degrees

First, do the flames on the burners, when they're on high, appear to be normal? Or are they lower than normal, despite the burner knob(s) being turned to high? Do you turn the tank OFF after grilling each time?

If you answered yes, to the last two questions, here's what you need to do. Turn the tank valve OFF. Disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose. Turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY, until it's completely open. Light each burner individually and turn the burner knob to high. Once all the burners are lit and turned to high, do the flames look taller than before?
If so, you just solved your problem. Remember to turn the tank valve on VERY, VERY SLOWLY each time you turn it ON.

If the above is not the problem, the grill thermostat may be faulty. To test this theory, purchase an inexpensive Oven Thermometer and place it on the grill grates, when preheating your grill. Close the lid of the grill and ten minutes later, take a look at the Oven Thermometer and compare it's temperature with the grill thermometer. If the grill thermometer is reading significantly lower than the Oven thermometer, you need to replace the grill thermometer. You can purchase one directly form Weber.

Hope this helped you solve your problem. Happy Grilling!

Model GBS307PDQ5: Oven preheated to 425 degrees.

F3 usually means, that the oven temp. sensor is bad and one need to replace it.
The fact, that it's not heating tells me, the fuse in the back also needs to be replaced (requires pulling out).

Kenmore oven - Not heating up

Check the BACK of your temperature knob for an adjustment. I was ready to replace my heating elements when I accidently discovered the adjustment. Made the adjustment and no more problems. My oven now stays within 4 degrees of settings.

Oven temperature fluctuating

Glowworm, Im assuming your model is a 790.78802500. If your husband is handy with a meter have him ohm out the sensor. It should show around 1091 ohms at 75 degrees or room temp. The preheat is programed so that the manufacturer can get the energy effecient label on the range and what ever perks they get from it. It actually should take around another 10 to 15 minutes to reach the set temp after it shows preheated. You can calibrate the oven by setting bake to 550 degrees. Then press and hold the bake pad again for 15 seconds or until a single beep is heard. Now you can adust temps up or down in 5 degree increments up to 35 degrees by using the slew keys. It will show in the display. Once you have the calibration done, press stop/clear. Catriver...post back
