Change from lp to propane on my whirlpool stove

In most cases the orifices can be removed and reversed to convert from lp to natural gas. Sometimes you will need a conversion kit and you will need to look this up by model number. 465 is the oven capacity not the model number. You can locate the model number by pulling the drawer out and looking behind it. Please let me know the model and I can let you know what kit you need. Also I should let you know that your gas company is the most qualified to convert your range, and this conversion should not be attempted by anyone who is not qualified. If this conversion is not completed properly you could be risking your life and the lives of everyone in your home, so make sure you know what you are doing!! Or get a qualified person. Natural gas to LP conversion of Gaffers Sattler stove

Nearly every natural gas / LP operated appliance can be converted to work with the other fuel pretty easily. You will need to change the orifice in the burner & pilot. Contact your LP provider and they should be able to supply the correct parts / perform the labor for this job for you.

Hi,

Hotpoint supplies the orifices and instructions with each range for converting. It is just that it is hidden, they attach it to the gas regulator. The regulator is near the bottom back typically. Here is a cut out from your use and care manual.

CONVERTING TO LP GAS (or converting
back to natural gas from LP)
This range leaves the factory set for use with natural
gas. If you want to convert to LP gas, the conversion
must be performed by a qualified LP gas installer.
The conversion instructions and LP orifices can be found
attached to the range next to the pressure regulator.
Keep these instructions and the orifices in case you want
to convert back to natural gas.

If it is new fromt the factory, you many have the natural gas (methane) jets in the burners. You will need to check your bag of parts to find the propane parts (LP parts). LP jets allow a different fuel/air mixture to burn at the right heat. Check the owner's manual for details how to make the change.

you have to change the little nozzles at each burner to smaller ones and then switch the plastic orfice around in the gas regulator thats on the stove where the gas hooks up.whirlpool should offer the kit to convert this stove.this must be done to insure it work properly.

The pressure regulator and the orifice for the burners has got to be changed to run LP

All ovens come from the factory set up for natural gas. To convert to liquip propane you must change the orifices. Once you have the proper orifices, you will be able to make the adjustment you desire. You can contact your lp supplier and have them send their techie out as they do this as a free service.

2. Provide an adequate gas supply.
This unit is pre-set to operate on 4" natural gas manifold
pressure. Aconvertible pressure regulator is connected to the
manifold and MUST be connected inseries with the gas supply
line. If the LP/Propane conversion kit has been used, follow
instructions provided with the kit for converting the pressure
regulator to LP/Propane use. The LP kit can be found on the
back side of the range (some models).

I yours does not have the kit on back go to sears to get one.

On the regulator of the stove there is a knot tha you swich to propane it have the latters lp or nat.swich it to Lp. you most open the air vents on all the burners.

They make an LP conversion kit What you are asking and it should cost only about $20 dollars.
One Model # is, 8576846A
Now some places have it using different numbers!
Make sure to ask if this is for you range. I believe on kit fits all Whirlpool Gas products.
