Hi,
Could be multiple reasons
Check the signal type
Play around with the Channel and see what connects better
Check the server time out
Ensure u dont have a limitation on number of IPs
Connect without wifi password, change type if works
If your computer is connected to the Modem directly. I would suggest you to call Your internet service provider first.
If your computer is connected to the router. Connect it directly to the modem and check if you have the same problem
If you find the problem is only when connected to the router. Check if your other computers connected to the router has the same problem. This is a test to find out if the problem is with the router or the computer
If it is found to be Router's issue. Try resetting and reconfiguring. If it is still not fixed try upgrading the latest firmware.
If it is the Computer's issue try changing cables, Update the NIC's driver software
Since the wireless works fine on your router, then it is possible that there is a problem either on your ethernet cable or on the port of the belkin router.
Try a different ethernet cable. (Ethernet cable is the one that is connected from your computer to the router.) If you don't have a spare cable, you can directly connect the computer to the modem, just to isolate the issue and determine if it is the cable or the computer itself.
If you have determined that the cable is working fine, then try a different port on the router.
I hope this helps!
This would be the router itself not agreeing with the computers ethernet card. I would have a look at firmware first and see if that does not put a stop to your issue, you mentioned you tried a diffrent cable and direct connection was fine then the router is the issue. I would try to firmwar eit first if that does not work I would try a diffrent router at this point.
thanks and please do be considerate and leave positive feedback and ratings.
1. You may have a an IP address conflict. 2. check the device connected to the router all computer need to be connected at the same time. 3. Bring all the computers up one at a time and this should resolve the address conflict.
Try to upgrade the firmware of the router. Is there any computer connected to the router with the cable. If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router. Download the firmware of the router from the manufacturer's website. enter the model number. select proper version number and download the firmware of the router. Once you download the firmware, you will need to open the router set up and upgrade the firmware of the router. After upgrading the firmware, it is recommended that you reset and reconfigure the router.
This MAY resolve your issue.

Make sure that your computer works properly when connected directly to the modem without the router. If that is working properly and not dropping the connection then the Internet service is working. If it is dropping, then you will need to check the modem or call ISP.
If your computer works properly when connected directly to the modem then you will need to check the settings of the router. I think you will need to upgrade the Firmware of the router. For this you will need to connect a computer to the router and open the set up page of the router. After upgrading the firmware, you will need to reset and reconfigure the router. Your internet modem needs to be reset to find the router first. The modem will find the first address when rebooting the entire system or if something gets unplugged.. I've had great success doing the following: First of all turn off ALL computers, routers, modem ...everything... Then connect power to the main routing source... usually you've got your modem plugged into this.. Just start the router first with all ethernet cabling etc disconnected. Then secondly, connect power to the modem... As the modem connects, it will find the router ip address first... then you are set to turn on the wireless, and the other computers... and the router should designate proper ip addresses for all the peripherals and keep them connected without dropping someone off to allow the other address on... Hope this is clear.... So first the main router, then the modem followed by everything else... Let me know what happens ... and if you need more help...
One simple solution, can you try using the router on another ISP connection (at your friends' place possibly?) This will rule out the possiblility of your ISP fault saving you $65 straightaway...
What a static ip is, is the ip address that the router automatically assigns to other equipment. (computers, xbox, ect.) Find D-links customer support line for help.
