If you were hoping for a reason to replace/upgrade the camera I think this would qualify. If you want to see if you can save it, find a camera repair shop in your area and at least have it looked at. It may cost you a diagnostic fee but that will give you a better idea of whether it's worth spending the money on.

Help! I have a nikon D60 and all of a sudden I can't see the picture on the sreen before I click to take the photo. Is the battery low or did I hit something I shouldn't have? Thanks

If you could see the picture on the screen before taking it, there was something seriously wrong with your D60, which apparently now seems to have fixed itself. The D60 doesn't have the LiveView feature which allows you to use the screen instead of the viewfinder to compose your picture.

Nikon D60 diigital camera. taking pictures in auto mode and now unable to take pictures. flashing "F- - " with r16 code when pressing shutterbutton.

the lens needs to be set at its smallest f-stop to work properly on your camera. The F error is telling you that the aperure ring is not at the smallest setting(largest "F" number, most likely F22. turn the ring to F22 or whatever is the biggest number and it will work. there might also be a lock on the aperture ring to keep it from moving. Good luck, Worm1855

That is a problem that has to do with the Flash...make sure your flash settings are not turned on. If the flash can't find an image...it rotates and usually never finds the image. It's reading in a Flash mode.

How do I stop my Nikon D60 from highlighting white spots?

When you are in the playback mode, press the up or down arrow on the back dial until the screen scrolls through the various overlays until you get to the screen you want...usually the screen with the frame numbers on it. If this helps, please rate accordingly, thanks.

Can not view through theLCD while taking pictures

No, you are not missing a button. The D60 does not offer 'live view' like the compact digital cameras.
