If your computer came with an installation disk you can do it the easy way and just pop that disk in restart your computer and follow the instructions, to do a clean installation. That will wipe everything out and install what was in it to begin with. If you don't have that disk you will need to get a copy from ACER or buy a copy of windows.

When I go to start menu to shut down and press shut down it will just reboot and will ot shut down

Step 1:
Laptop computers can be wonderful devices, except when the need to troubleshoot arises. Acer laptops are no different. A quick way to fix many problems with an Acer laptop running Windows is to reset it to factory settings. Resetting your Acer laptop to factory settings can eliminate slow operation, registry problems, virus problems and spyware issues. What's more, a factory reset of your laptop may reduce the need for a full reinstallation of Windows.

Back up all necessary data to an external device such as a disk, flash drive or hard drive Make sure all programs are closed and shut down your Acer laptop. Detach any external hardware such as an external hard drive or printer. Press the Power button to boot your Acer laptop. Press "Alt-F10" on your keyboard when the Acer screen appears at the start of the boot-up process. Wait a moment while Windows loads the reset files. Select "Restore System from factory default" in the Acer eRecovery Management window. Click "Next" on the next screen to continue. Click "Next" on the following destination information window. This will pop up a notice telling you that resetting your Acer laptop will erase all data and restore the laptop to its original settings and configuration. Click "OK" in the notice window to proceed with resetting your Acer laptop. Wait while your Acer laptop is reset to factory settings.

Aspire 5520-5912 does not start ,shows only blue screen

Try to get into safe mode by pressing F8 when you first turn onto your computer. Choose safe mode. If you can get into safe mode. Try doing a system restore back to the last date the computer was last working properly.

If you can't get into safe mode then you'll need to wipe out your hard drive and get your system back to factory defaults. You probably have corrupt system files that are causing these problems.

Yes, you usually need a driver for printers. You can get the drivers from the website of the manufacturer of the printer (eg. www.hp.com)

Acer TravelMate 5520 is bio-probtected and unknown password

As a general rule, registering with "Acer Standard Registration" is simply putting your computer under Acer's warranty for operation and/or repair if needed; registration almost certainly has nothing to do unlocking your password.

First, without sounding critical, if you didn't set the bio-protection, who did? Or, who had access to your computer that could have set the biometric fingerprint sensor? That person could/should be able to unlock it.

Assuming you've used the computer (and not someone else) and you're not the second register of the computer, you could try contacting Acer at their website and explain your problem and see if they can answer your question.

If the laptop is not originally yours, and the biometric sensor was set by a previous owner, that should solve your problem, having the previous owner "unlock" the system.

If the laptop is not originally yours and you don't know who the previous owner is, there's a good chance that you cannot access the informtion. You could take the laptop to a computer repair outlet that does hard drive repairs, however that is usually not cheap and you might pay for them for an evaluation and find that they cannot unlock the system.

And, there's a chance that you will not be able to reformat the disk; the protection might not allow you to reformat it. Again, you might need to bring it to a computer shop and have them reformat it (or, possibly, install a new hard drive in order to use the computer).

Full destructive recovery on Acer Travelmate 243XC

You need to reinstall the XP operating system. You'll need a system disk that came with the computer (best solution).

I recommend visiting a forum for your computer. Try this one. I found lots of good advice for my IBM thinkpad on a forum.
