2 red lights is overheating you can try and leave the console alone and see if that cools it down, sometimes this will work. If it does not you will need to get it fixed and to do this you should use a good Xbox 360 Repair guide or send it in.
It means your xbox slim is overheating. Make sure it's getting enough air and let it cool down. You can also try removing the hard drive and seeing if that helps.
how many quadrants are there lit if there is three lights then u have the red ring of death (RROD) if u have 4 i think it means ur AV cable in the xbox isin proberly i think check its connected poperly and if thats not the problem TRY THIS
What we NEED 2 do is OVERHEAT ur xbox to do this u will need something that will fit through the little holes in the back of the console were the fan blows air out we need to stop these stick something like q-tips in the holes then after aba 3 mins it should overheat and two light should indicate (on the left hand side ) it has overheated to turn it off yet wait 1 min let it cook then pull the power out the back and let it cool down 10 mins (dont put in fridge or freezer lol) the turn it on GREEN LIGHTS BACK on line if that didnt work u might need to do x-clamp fix tutorials on utube or if that doesnt work TRY the oven fix were u stick ur motherboard in the oven at 230 uk or 475 usa for 10 mins TOP SHELF on BAKIN TRAY put it FLAT GUD luk
Hi,
This is known as The RROD red-Ring-Of-Death.
Caused By Overheating, when the consoles played for hours, then allowed to cool down. dry solder joints occur, poor thermal paste used initially by microsoft, or the x-clamps. there are guides-tutorials and various kits et,c. available on e-bay and the likes to solve this. if you do not feel competant to attempt this. search the internet for rrod repairs, in your area. shops offer a reasonably priced service.
Here it is. The two red lights is a "general hardware failure" but I find most of the time it is the CPU's fault. This happens when the CPU is not kept cool enough so the Xbox shuts down to prevent overheating. Basically it's the same deal as the RROD. To fix it you should do this:
A) Send it to Microsoft for repairs if you're still covered. B) Send it to a trusted Xbox Repair center. I currently run one called DRAGONF1R3 REPAIRS. C) Go online and purchase a RROD X-Clamp fix kit. This should come with instructions on how to fix your X-box 360 by yourself and the Hardware you will need.
These are your three best options. If you need more information on my Repair service feel free to e-mail me. (my e-mail is in my description)
This problem is a relative of the RROD. The same fixes apply, but sadly MS won't cover this unit under it's 3 year extended warranty because it's not showing the RROD. You will need a repair in order to get up and running again. Contact me at [email protected] and I will help you get set up for a repair.
Well, i thought it was RROD, but it wasn't. Just let your Xbox 360 console cool. You may have to wait several hours for your console to cool enough. Don't turn on your Xbox 360 console when the console is hot. Verify that your Xbox 360 console has enough ventilation and that the fans are operating. It might be over-heating.
