My new Gaggia Titanium espresso is one that has not gotten much use. My screen indicates "Fill Water Tank" but my water tank is full. Any advice?! It worked well the few times that I used it but now, no more espresso!
Thank you
As suggested previously by pierre235, the solution is really simple: make sure that the float in the tank really does float when water is full. Here it is exactly how...>>...fill the tank slowly (as it is still unattached to the machine) ensuring that the float does float and then slowly put/attach the tank back with the machine - keep checking the display for status. Then, if it's OK, fill the rest of the tank until it's full. Then restart the machine - voi la .. all works.
Hello in the water tank they is a float it was probably out of water for a while and the float is stuck take the container in our hand and tap it gently by doing that the float gonna get loose move the container you gonna ear the float move put it back fill with water enjoy cheers
Hi,
My gaggia has a float which should be contained in its own compartment in the water tank.
If it is out of that compartment, I get the "Fill Water Tank" message.
I have now lost the lid to the small float compartment so I hold it there with a fork. It works.

Check the little black rectangular box which is in a plastic channel at the back. To work properly, the rectangular box, with the narrower end facing downwards, needs to be floating at the top of that channel. Apparently it's a magnet which signals the circuitry that the water tank is full. Make sure it's floating to the cap of the channel. If not, you can get a replacement one from Gaggia.

The float is floating, it is not stuck. I emptied and refilled the tank twice. I still get the message "fill water reservoir". The float is not the problem, what else can it be?
chrisa9643 gives the correct answer.
The key is to properly dry the back of the machine where the watertank fits. Then fill the tank slowlyfirst 25 outside the machine with the machine offf - then attach switch on and carry on filling slowly.

The mechanism is working on a magnetical switch witch is floating inside your watertank.
It should float upwards till the water level reaches the floating magnet. If the water level drops further the magnet will do also and will lose contact which indicates a low water level.
Mostly this is related to dirt, hard water or a magnet which has been stuck.. Cleaning the compartiment of the magnet will fix the problem 99% of the cases. 1% is a broken magnetically switch on the opposit position inside the machine or a problem in wire or main board.
