Have just heard you only need the last four (4) numbers.
but you must add 1212 to the numbers, if your first number is 3 add 1 to make 4, if the second number is 6 add 2 to make 8, third number add 1 again and so on
Just did this - it worked but it can be a bit trickier than you think if you have an 8 or 9 in your code.
-so get your radio out- using the metal ruler technique, on the end of the huge barcode is an eight digit number e.g mine is (01) 15 digits (21) 05062479.
Adding the 1212 to the last 4 digits gave me 3681- this totally didnt work.
The trick is to add it in reverse and carry the remainder to the left so 9 2 =11, (last digit =1), 7 1 1(carried over from last addition) =9, 4 2= 6, 2 1=3, so my code in the correct order now is 3691.
Now you just enter it in- make sure its saying CODE first - otherwise pull out your radio fuses for a second and then put them back in and try it again.
you have 3 chances to get it right each time(then redo the fuses again)
press "1" button repeatedly until it reads your first digit e.g.3, then 2 button unitl it reaches the right number for you, same with 3rd and 4th digit then finally press button '5' as your enter key - all done- sweet as.
Hope this helps- it took me almost a fortnight of no radio to go into hyundai and ask them-as i was told it was going to cost $60 but in the end the guy just helped me out with my code and i did it myself.
Thanks a lot Dnaman. i have add the 1212 in that code but with patglovers technique and it works. one again thanks guys.
Hi my father just lost the code of his Hyundai Getz model 2007, and I contact the Hyundai dealer and from there side they told me that can't help us to give us the code.
I tried to add the 1212 to the serial Number that it is MT04070625 and the answer came 1837. Then I tried to enter this code 1837 but it doesn't worked.
So I am thinking that I done the wrong calculation. If you think that I do it in the wrong way, can you please help me and tell me what should be the code answer please.
The serial number is MT04070625.
If you can please send me the answer on my email: godmus@gmail,com
So thank you in advance for your very kind attention and hope to listen from you soon
When using this 1212 trick do you use the last 4 digits of the cars VIN number or the last 4 digits of the stereos serial number?
Does the 1212 method work in 2008 Hyundai getz's? and do you use the last 4 digits of the cars VIN number or the stereos serial number?
I found after adding 1212 to the last four digits of my stereo number it didn't happen so after thinking on this for awhile and searching for more answers to this conundrum I pressed 5 on my radio and ;:o yahoo my radio worked !!! I don't know how I knew this ?? regardless my radio is back in action !!!I hope anyone having the same problem can use this also with success ...my car is a Hyundai getz 2009 model may work for other models too GOOD LUCK ;).

Remove your stereo by sliding a metal ruler down each side. Then on top you'll see a barcode. The las eight numbers is your serial no. Every second number of these eight numbers is your security code. example. last eight numbers are :13246590. Your security code would be 3450
A big thanks to Langly his solution worked and we saved $55, cheeky sods wanting to charge that amount for a 2 min job.
After trying the 1212 method with no success on my Hyundai getz 2009 model I sat contemplating this and thought to press 5 on the radio why I thought to do this is a mystery to me but it worked ..!!! ;D hope this helps
I have just Re coded 2x 2010 Getz's using 1212 system, on last 4 serial No/ Digits.
Note If Your Digit + 2 rises Above 10 you must carry the base 10 to the Next Digit (Left) as with any Maths Equation.
ie 9+2=11 Carry The 10
ie 1934 +1212= 3146
I have just Realised if you Use A Calculator! it Gives you Your Pin Number!

Be aware guys that this does not work for all Hyundais - even though Hyundai say it should. The PINCODE given in the documents with the new Hyundai is based on the 1212 technique as described here. However for some it does not work - think about it. It means the original pincode Hyundai supply is not even the correct one for the radio. Hyundai do NOT test the pincode they simply use the 1212 technique and print that on the code card.
Hyundai Customer Service will then claim that the Head Unit is faulty. Believe me, this is NOT the case. Hyundai never supplied the correct pincode in the first place.
