EPSON V700 Photo Scanner

My scanner has been plugged in and working fine.  Today when I went to complete some scanning work I ran into trouble.  When I went to turn on the power to the scanner I can not get any power.  I have checked all cables and everything looks fine.  Any ideas of what else I can check? Thanks for your help.

Yeah, same deal with me. My scanner was working one day, and then literally the next day would not turn on. I have tried multiple power sources and checked all cables.

Blue light on and when power button pressed, no action.

Unplug the power supply from the power port on the scanner then plug it back in after a few seconds and power-up if it isn't already on. This happens to me a lot and this works every time. Frustrating though.

My epson perfection scanner doesn't work since i upgraded my iMac to OSX.10.8

Make sure you have installed the scanner drivers bcos sometimes it only installs printer drivers. I suggest you install the scanner drivers again. Make sure the scanner is turned in first b4 computer.

I am using the Epson Perfection V700 photo scanner to scan dental xrays. Sometimes the xrays come out perfect, other times I get streaks across the image. Sometimes the streaks are colored, othertimes...

You have to use the "FILM AREA GUIDE" included with the scanner. This black plastic guide leaves a small area at the top of the glass open so that the scanner can calibrate itself at the start of each scan. Use the guide or leave at least 8mm between the top of your film and the top of the scanner glass.

I have an Epson Perfection V700 Photo scanner and an Imac version 10.5.8. Are these compatable?

Yes the scanner is compatible with a downloaded driver from epson. however some of the supplied third party software may not be. Also with MACS the push button scan may not work.

Can't use the ''Film selection on epson V700

Make sure the transparency light cable that comes from the lid is plugged in to the back of the scanner. If the cable is unplugged for any reason, the transparency/film options will not be available.

I cannot get clear scans from my photo negatives

If you are seeing pixelation, the issue is either insufficient resolution during the scanning process or a problem with the output device. If it's a focus issue, which will NOT cause pixelation, the problem may be the height of the negative holder. The Epson Perfection V series scanners have a fixed focus point which only adjusts between two settings depending on whether you select the film holders (which raise the film off the glass) or the film guide (which scans film directly on the glass) in the software options. If you are going to scan transparencies or negatives, familiarize yourself with the holder height adjustment issue and be willing to experiment with different height settings until you are getting optimum results. This is not documented much at all in the Epson user manual but there is a little bit about it, including some examples of results at different settings, here: http://www.photo-i.co.uk/Reviews/interactive/Epson%20V700/page_13.htm Apparently every scanner is slightly different so even though the lowest holder foot setting (default) is working best for some, other settings work better for others. On my V700, I have the feet on the film holders set to the highest setting plus I shimmed them with a 1mm piece of styrene before I could get the scans in focus. Once I found the right height though, I've been able to get beautiful scans from this machine. BTW, scanning negs directly on the glass will almost always result in Newton Rings.
