Not recognizing DVD player

Inserted blank dvd-r for recording; on-screen message said something like "disk is damaged; try to repair it?" Followed prompts; EH75V shut down. Now, EH75V appears to not recognize DVD player; won’t play any discs. Now, exactly 6 beeps occur when closing empty disk tray & when inserting dvd (message: “cannot read, please check disc” w/enter symbol, which doesn’t respond & quickly leaves). When trying to copy on EH75V, message is “Cannot copy Possible reasons are: non-recordable disc, finalized (closed) disc, damaged disc. etc.; none apply. Many DVDs tried. When on player drive, upper-left corner display no longer shows any drive name in top bar; can’t go to submenu; doesn’t respond to play button.Part I Inserted blank dvd-r for recording; on-screen message said something like "disk is damaged; try to repair it?" I have the EH75 also and just had the same problem with the DVD not recognizing any DVD and making the 6 beeps. Tried cleaning with a DVD disc cleaner, even opened up the case and the DVD component, cleaned with a can of air, reassembled, but still the same problem.

same as described - Panasonic offers repair for $139 - I wonder if in fact this is a problem typical to the unit after a certain amount of usage.

You can try downloading free players onto your computer as long as your computer has installed DVD drive, such as Leawo Blu-ray Player, RealPlayer, 5KPlayer, etc.

get the firmware update from the brand website all you do is download the file burnit on a cd and put it in the dvd player should fix most and eventual problems

DVD players need a finilized disk. When the program finilizes the disk, it's writing the TOC which is where the players go to find the files.

Try a different manufacturer/brand of DVD-recordable disks.
If you still have the problem, then your drive is malfunctioning,
and you need to get a qualified technician to disassemble your computer, and replace it.

Unit does not recognize DVD-R and is ejected from the player

You may need to try a DVD+R disc. Some of the players/recorders are REALLY picky.

Since it went into "disk recovery mode" it now will not play dvds

Got the same problem. Happened 2 months after guarantee expired. **** machine. The only good thing is the harddrive and that is made by HITACHI not Panasonic! I go Sony next time. Panasonic quoted £200 plus to fix the problem. I only paid £220 when I bought it new.

DVD will not load/format new disk

I have got exactly the same problem. Thought I had found some discs that worked as the first one formatted, since then all have come up with that crappy error protection message. Samsung really should sort this out.

Doesn't recognize disks anymore

This is a common problem with the Lite-on LVW range of DVD recorders due to changes in the construction of more recent DVD R media. It can be solved with a relatively simple firmware upgrade.

Goto : http://r00.liteonit.com.tw/DC/english/download/index.asp

You'll need to have a blank CD and a CD/DVD writer in the PC you use to download the file.

Follow the instructions on the website to upgrade your firmware, this should then allow you to write to DVD's once again.

Panasonic DMR-ES15

Just unplug it and let it sit for half an hour. Then try playing the lens cleaner disc, the problem would be fixed....
