It may be that you do not have the proper codec installed for the movie to play? It could also mean that it may be that the DVD-ROM drive is out of whack with the region settings. This issue could also be a bad player or you need to upgrade the adobe player or get the
Adobe Player for whatever browser you are using
Google Chrome already has it installed when you download it
Click Here. There are other variables as well I will start with just these.
Here is how I operate my movies player experiences. I choose a player set it to default. The player I use is
VLC which has most codecs from any kind of movie or music format. The codec files I like to use are called
k lite Mega Pack. This is a common method folks are going to these days. Windows Media Player also can have these installed right from the k lite Mega Pack Site the codecs that will also work for those movies that have to have the proper codec in order to be played,
You also want to make sure that you stay away from installing a lot of players just to get a movie to work they will eventually stop working at all. It is rare now that I have all this installed that I cannot play any movie with
Windows Media Player and
VLC at the plate. Be sure to read up on this stuff it is rather interesting to say the least half of it I do not understand I just know that it works for me why not you? Thanks for using FixYa! Also I forgot to mention the region is default should be anyway to Region 1 if you are in the US.
To set the region if your movie will not play on the
DVD-ROM device seems to not be working do only if needed. You would go to devices by clicking on in Win 7 then go to control panel then select the
CDROM drive you are using then click on properties, select the drive. Select the Region 1 setting or the region you live under. Again region 1 is US more than likely it is already set for you by default. I hope that this gave you or others who are reading this the jump on the latests stuff although its has been around you can see why we have to consistently be on the ball and do the reading and upgrading. Thanks for using FixYa! Please cast a good vote for me if I was of any service to you. John
