Julezj, You will need to connect your monitor to a KNOWN GOOD pc that DOES NOT have the screen saver set to do a time out when the keyboard is inactive. Whenever you state a problem with a monitor on fixya, please mention the monitor technology you are dealing with. CRT (TUBE) or LCD flat screen!! IT HELPS IF WE KNOW TOO!!! Did it really display a screen message that read "out of signal" or did it read "OUT of RANGE SIGNAL"??? Is this monitor used to display HIGH resolution gaming and other high refresh rate imaging? Will this happen if you only have the WIN-desktop showing on the screen? Get back to me with more CLUES as to what happens on the screen. 12fixlouie Bye for now.

The monitor is not getting a video signal from the PC. Try a different monitor. Or add a new video card to the PC.

My monitor is distorted. It is an E181H It is

Well, it has a maximum of 1024 × 768 @ 60Hz resolution. Double check that you have the correct Hz selected on your computer and that your computer video card supports the higher resolution. If the video card maxs out at 800 then the highest you can get is 800. If all your setting are correct and the video card is capable of using the settings you want then you may need to trade the monitor in or have it repaired. It should be under warranty being only 6 months old.

No Input Signal

Dont Panic it is Nothing...
Your Monitor is safe...
If it say "no Input signal" - "Check VGA cable"

it means that the Monitor is finding signals from the computer, and the cable is either not connected or unsecurely connected.

Acer AL1714

OK I have the same monitor, I was given it by a client when I couldnt fix it, I DO have the 19V supply and still getting the same problem.

If you open it and reseat all connections you can reach, I find it starts to work. Unfortunately after less than a few days use it goes off again.

Hopefully this can help someone get further
