Stove lights One of the stove lights dimmed for a day and then when we turned on the lights the circuit breaker tripped of power to the unit. Both bulbs were burned out and were removed. Tripped breaker back in and all functions of the oven work fine but there is not power to the stove lights.

We see this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide for $39.95 postpaid.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be inoperable or stuck on too.

Details of our service and critical safety information and disassembly information is at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

When it is running the lights flicker or go dimmer or trips a breaker.

you have too much wattage on the same circuit. microwaves draw 1000-1100 watts typically, something else in on the same circuit drawing another 700+watts and tripping the circuit breaker. lights, refrigerator, stove, fan, hair dryer, etc, etc. if you turn everything else off and you have the same issue, then you may have an electrical issue with your wiring and it could be a potential shorting/fire issue. be cautious, be smart.

Why won't my microwave turn on?

Jennifer, do you have any lights or anything that works on the microwave? In looking up your model, I see that it is an over the stove unit. If you have no power at all for fans or lights or anything on the unit, you might have a tripped circuit breaker or you might have a blown fuse inside your microwave. If you have a blown fuse it would probably be best to have a service company come look at it because it will take two people to safely remove the microwave from the cabinet to be able to work on the unit in most cases. Hope this helps.

Freestanding stove (range) keeps tripping breaker when oven is used or two burners are used

Is this a new installation?? It sounds like the circuit breaker is under rated for this unit.

Most of the time while putting stove into the bake setting it will trip the breaker

you need to plug your unit into a power outlet that is fused higher (at least 15 amps) or if the breaker is 15 amps, you may just need to replace the breaker (they do wear out).

Went to warm up a food item and after 3 seconds the microwave shut off like the circuit breaker tripped. time face went blank, light inside does not light up and stove top lights do not light. circuit...

You have a fuse behind the screen panel. You have screws inside the microwave holding the panel. you have 1-2 at the bottom. You may also have to remove the vent. It has 2-3 screws which will be inside the vent. These can be removed from the front. Once these are removed the panel will pop off and you will see the fuse The fuse can be bought at a radio shack. BE SURE TO UNPLUG THE MICROWAVE! Good Luck

Turned light on. Several minutes later the light

Your unit may employ a switching power supply and these have a tendency to cease operation without warning and servicing these may require training and a piece of specialized equipment.
With the unit unplugged, after an hour or two, it is safe to open the housing and check for an internal fuse which could have failed.
If typical, these will be in a tubular ceramic housing about 1 1/2" long and 1/4" in diameter and can be purchased at most hardware stores.
