I have a 8gb Silicon power usb stick..was working this morning and now it comes up with 'Please insert a disk in to the removable disk drive k". Can it be fix?

Same thing happens to me .My 8gb silicon usb flash drive got the same error, please insert a disk into drive, the name of my drive weas changed into Removable Disk instead of the name(Sanctuary which is what i used) It said ni media ,and it was registered as XXXXXXXX U167CONTROL USB DEVICE can anyone help me with this.

It's possible that the USB stick has "failed".
Shutdown the computer, and remove the USB stick.
Start the computer, and let Windows fully start-up.
Insert the USB stick, and see if Windows recognizes it.
If not, it is "dead".

Insert the flash or USB hard drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - AdministrativeTools - Computer Management - Disk Management. Then right click on Disk 1removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted itwill indicate that it is Healthy.

Lexar 8GB wont work. when i insert it, it shows up on my computer as connected but then when i click on the lexar icon to view my files on it, it doesn't open, the message: 'please insert disk into drive...
Some computers will not support a large 8GB stick. The best some will do is 2GB, If you are running a computer pre-2001, you may not be able to use the 8GB stick (I have the same problem with my desktop PC). It just is not supported!

My Pen drive is KINGSTON DTI/8GB. And not geting Formating.
Sometimes when a flash memory stick fails because it was not removed from the USB port properly. If the device is removed by just pulling it out of the USB port, it can cause the flash device to fail, you must click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the Task Bar and select the device you wish to remove and only do so when instructed to do so.

When the flash memory device appears to malfunction it maybe possible to restore it by reformatting it. Insert the flash drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that it is Healthy.

You need to format the external drive. Format the drive as primary drive and in FAT32. (FAT32 will allow data to be exchanged between MACs and PCs).
Insert the external hard drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that it is Health

8gb pny pendrive not working
Try to connect it to another usb . If it still does not see it do check disk with fix errors. I had such a problem many times and usually check disk helps.
