Have just bought new car fitted with Sony CDX-L400X. Radio works fine but CD won't come on. Put one in, played ok. When turned car off and went to turn stereo on again, CD won't play or eject. CD side of stereo just won't work. Unfortunately manual supplied is of another make, so have nothing to refer to. Have tried all sensible options but not working. CD now residing in stereo but can't play it or get it out. Any ideas?

Hi, the problem is likely in the wiring or possibly a burned fuse. There is a separate wire to the radio that is always hot and keeps the station and clock settings while the key is off. If you tell me the car model and year, I may be able to tell you which wire and fuse to check. Was this working originally or has it never worked?
I have the same problem with the same model, the radio stations cannot be heard, I am in Mexico, they tell me that it is the radio tuner that does not work
The drive(optical) drives door mechanism has malfunctioned. If the PC CD drive can be replaced that would be the best, but repairing is also not cost-effective...........sodeep
